They look more menacing in a non artistic side camera angle. Must be why Hitchcock never went 90 degree.

He did the headache himself. No animals were hurt in the production of this thread.
Crazy teeth on this one. They hardly look real. Mad Mike is probably correct, and while caught in a foothold, it got fairly trussed up, due to an oversight on my White-17 set!
Note to self: Make sure traps and chains can NOT tangle!

That is SO cool! I always save my cool skulls and bleach or beatle them for a collection.

I really don't think you have any idea how sort of jealous I am. Good for you! That's a heck of a treasure, I say!

That's terrific. Never ceases to amaze me at how well Mother Nature can engineer things.

Is this one rare in its uniformity? I have no experience with them.

Nicest chompers I have seen. The teeth are actually abnormal, I think.
It is travelling to a taxi studio in Nebraska, so be interesting to see what they think.

I'm sitting here in my office looking at about 40 cleaned wolverine skulls I collected over the years. To see one with teeth (especially canines) in that shape is extraordinary, in my opinion.

40 skulls on display sounds pretty cool. How about showing us a big male that didn’t have a good dental plan? Ak Vikings gulo with perfect teeth is cool but the old gnarly chompers are cool too. I shot a wolverine one time with a broken canine. The broken piece was pushed up into the gums. That must’ve hurt.

I always wondered if the animals that break into cabins get rotten teeth faster from eating sugar and syrup and other sugary stuff. I know town wolves have rotten teeth at a young age from chowing down at the dump . I think they wear their chompers down really quick in sandy areas too. How much does fall berry season speed up tooth decay.

Amazing, the things learned with trappers .

Ryan, you mentioning breaking into cabins !

WCT magazine had me do this true story image of gulo who specialized in tearing off trim on cabins , then , with surgical precision peeling out the single pane glass to get into numerous cabins. After raiding the pantry , eating bags of flour, sugar, chomping into canned goods, everything , he would find a sofa or blankets, and lounge on them for hours , until taking his leave grin

He became known in the area and after a long time with unsuccessful trying, he did finally get caught. By that time, some who admired himself felt actual remorse in his capture and demise.

To raid cabins in such ways, eat everything, and love lounging on the sofa with blankets , was surely a unique fellow, indeed .

I had fun with this one, though done many years ago.

Thank you all for your info on this amazing animal. I am fascinated by them , along with marten of the world.

The bear I show above came from an area with primarily agriculture, corn, sunflowers, and soy beans are the primary foods. The Bears I take here in the bush don't have nearly the dental rot.

The skull of the grizzly I posted above was killed by a bison . He was just out of the hole in the spring and trying to do what he had probably done many times before. He just didn't have the tools to do the job any longer.

FWIW, the bison was dead also, about a hundred yards away.
