Retired down here from Alaska and am having a little trouble with size of bobcat tracks. Some of the tracks seem kinda small half the size of big coyote. Is this normal? The bigger track are about the size of a big coyote only rounder of course. There are no domestic cats where I am.

Our cat tracks here are 2 to 3",here's a fairly large track.

Generally bobcat tracks are a bit shorter than coyote but wider, ime, roughly 2"x2" and cat tracks can distinguished from canine tracks by the negative print between the pads and toes- cat has C shaped negative and canines have X shaped negative. Kittens track may be as small as a large house cat (they can have kittens any time of year so don't rule that out) and if the tracks are over 3" long I'd think lion.

This was a pretty good cat track. Big rangy tom. The stride is long and a good sized pad. I caught him on the next check.
