We use ours to watch Netflix. Haven’t had any problems with it.

We have one. Use it far more than the dish anymore. We have Netflix and Hulu on it. I would have to say we are overall very happy with it. Downside is we have had to replace it a couple times as they don’t seem to live more than a couple years.

Well just one. The stick one operates on WiFi for the remote and it's in my bedroom. I'm constantly rolling over on the remote in the bed and changing the channel. The remote doesn't have to be pointed at the tv it'll work anywhere in the house. (I know nitpicky but that's the only thing I could think of) Speaking of WiFi if you're WiFi is slow for any reason the roku will pause and "loading" like dial up used to, but that is a very rare occurance and dependant on how much stuff you got going on with your WiFi . I've got four TV's, at least that many cell phones and a couple laptops using WiFi without any slowdowns to speak of.

I've gotten all but one of my units thanks to Sling tv. They offer a free with 90 day subscription deal all the time. I sign up in the fall on opening weekend of college football and prepay for 90 days just to be able to get ESPN and SEC network. Unsubscribe when the season is over, do it again the next year. Free roku each year.

We have the same one we first bought... But it has developed a few "eccentricities"over its lifetime. It tends to lock up and not respond to its remote... Just pull the power cord and reboot and it's good to go for a while.

We upgraded to a Firestick in the LR and my wife moved the Roku to our bedroom. The Roku doesn't see much use anymore.

I like Roku, with access to Netflix . Inexpensive, easy. Can run it on computer, stream on large flatscreen tv.

So is there a monthly fee? Last thing I want is another bill.

No fee. We paid around $40.00 for it, when I bought it and that was it. It made our old TV work like a smart TV. I highly recommend Roku. Roku gives easy access to millions of hours of gives, which is both a plus and a negative, because you could waste your life with it.

I have one (we only have 1 tv) but my parents have multiple. We like them alot. We have Netflix, Hulu, prime, different stuff. You can get hunting channels, too. I like carbon tv. A nice variety. Just be careful. It's very easy to waste time sitting there watching it. No commercials and all.

Not for roku itself or the handful of free channels it comes with but most of those are stuff like youtube, some old cartoons, advertising channels. You only pay for those channels you want like hulu, netflix, amazon prime, etc. You can pay for the biggies like HBO if you want but hulu for around ten bucks a month will get you plenty to watch. Sling is 30 bucks a month for all the sports channels.
You can also rent or buy individual movies from prime or Google as a one time purchase.
Roku alone does not obligate you to a bill and does have some stuff to watch but nothing major to speak of. Good channels can be had for a few dollars a month.
I pay for Sling and Prime. The wife pays for netflix and purefix and the daughter has hulu.

Oh, almost forgot between youtube and some of the free PBS kids shows the grandbabies always have something to watch.

We've had one for several years. It was their fastest unit at the time
Maybe once every 3-4 months I'll have to unplug it and let it reboot, then it's trouble free. TONS of freebies available through Roku. Lots of hunting channels.
I have SlingTv on mine as well.

Nowadays it just don't pay to be a good 'ol boy.

Not to get off topic, but we just dropped dish and went with DirecTv Now. Not Direct (satellite). Run it off a Firestick. We got the $55 a month package. We get some buffering, but not too bad.

Netflix is $9 a month and if you enjoy really bad movies you will love it. Hulu is 8 and about the same, but you can watch southpark. If you have amazon prime you can watch their channel for free and in my opinion has the best movies but thats not saying much.
Take it with a grain of salt. I'm trying to figure out why im up at 3 am

I have it and also have no complaints. I watch all the free programs and have Netflix with it. I have found that I don't watch network tv anymore and if I want to watch a movie I just go to Redbox and rent it.
