Personally I use as little possible. My personal opinion is just dilutes the odor strength of a formulation.

What are you wanting to accomplish with the glycerine?

Just wanting to use it as an antifreeze in a bobcat meat base bait

Depends on how cold it gets there. As long as dont leave baits outside at night (put them in unheated building) I can pretty much get by without any.

Why not preserve with canning salt ? This would serve a dual purpose, in my mind it would not only preserve but act as an antifreeze.

I wouldn't want to worry about whether or not I could use a bait if it was left in any place other than a building. If you're worried about "diluting" your magic, test it in stages for freeze proofing to where it stays workable. Keep the bottle in a building over night then place it into the elements where it will freeze or dry out anyway if not treated? Animals have a keen sense of smell, your bait would be detected with or without diluting the product. Whether or not it will commit is another story.

Sometimes an anti-freeze is needed simply to be able to get the product out of the container or to keep the container from breaking if the product does freeze solid. I don't like salt as it attracts deer and rabbits. I use just enough glycerin to coat chunk baits and it seems to work well for me. As in everything, its trial and error. Add a little and see how it performs. I think I asked the same question myself here not to long ago and I played around with different amounts until I came up with what I think works.
