If by the steering arm, you are talking about the piece that attaches tie rod to the steering post, then may be different. The 94 had six grooves in the steering post and the 97 had four. The 96 ?

I don't know if I am using the proper terms for the parts I'm talking about, sorry.

Dirt ,That is the part . I do not have it all apart yet .It looks to be pot metal or similar to that so i doubt my welding will do to fix it . If it is $ 100 I will try to make one as it does not look too complex. Thank you smith

It has 4 grooves .It looks like Cast iron but I am not sure .Have you tried brazing them ?

Are you talking about the rod portion of the steering arm or the threaded end with the ball joint ?

I don't recall any cast iron parts on my 96 Tundra......but it's possible. Brazing should work if it's cast and might even work if it's CRS. Give it a try

You all are nuts to even consider welding something like this, if it was a garden tractor I would agree with you on the welding. I don't want to meet someone coming at me with the posted speed limit of 80mph with a welded steering arm.
Replace it with new or a used one from another truck, your life and others are worth more than trying to save a few dollars on a key part of your steering components.

Are we talking about a pickup or a snowmobile?

Four grooves. I should have two in the shop. To be sure, this is the part that connects the tie rod to the ski post. Bolt hole in one end and a big 2 inch or so diameter hole in the other with four notches to spline with the ski post? PM me your address and I'll flat rate you the part, if I have them.

Steering arm?

I have two used.
