Are there any waist high waders on the market ? Do not need chest high ones but something a tad taller than hip boots would be nice.

They make them, but most are probly not designed for trapping, but rather fishing. I have a pair of Frogg Toggs that are lighter than a pair of blue jeans, but definitey not cold weather gear. Have to wear wading boots over them.

I have probably the same ones Gary has. They are the breathable type...not neoprene. I love them for fishing.

Search for wading pants. That might turn up more results.

Cabela's online catalog is showing about 7 different models of waist high waders.

Cabelas makes them. Pretty handy item especially if you get stockingfoot.

I have the bootfoot Cabelas 3 mm neoprene pant waders. Work pretty good in cool/cold weather. I need a better solution for warm weather though. Cabelas has a breathable model that is more expensive. Every time I have tried to buy the breathables from Cabelas, they have not been available in my size.

I am also looking at Dan's waders. They are bib style waders but are only waterproof to the waist. They are not neoprene but they are more expensive. But I have a friend that swears by them. He uses them every day beaver trapping in the swamps of eastern NC and says they are more comfortable and outlast any he has ever used. He uses the Frogger model. I may bite the bullet and get the Froggers rather than trying to catch my size in stock at Cabelas.
