Hello,
I trapped a coyote yesterday with bad mange. Since we don't have a vehicle to check traps in we go on foot & I carried the coyote back to the house in my arms. (For pictures and for the urine.) Can humans get mange? Should I remake the set or move? I don't know anything about mange so would the urine from the mange coyote not be attractive to other coyotes?
Thanks,
AuthorTrapper.

You might get a rash. Your dogs might get mange. Leave em in the field. Urine is cheap.

Dont me so with the urine dispose of the body properly and take a good shower to prevent any organisms or mites and stuff.

Mange mites are pretty species specific. So, you shouldn't get it, or it won't last long as the mites die off.

You do get the mange from a animal that has it. I got it from a coyote that did not show it at the time and I cam down with it and also one of my coydogs at the time got it too. Dump it and do not handle as much as possible.if you do get it use used motor oil and put it on the area that show it on you or your dog. also if you have it a box make sure you use the oil also on to get the mange out of it. I found that out also when that same coydog got it, also if you get scabies use the used motor oil on it also to get rid of it. I had got that also from a med staff when I ad my hip replacement in the OR.
