So I was looking at the "Outlander" series of Can-Am Atv's..They look like they are well built Atv..I have never owned one. The guy was telling me that the Can-Am is making it's way in the Atv world and is dominate over Polaris in 2019 for the first time ever..I sure it's about sales talk but might be true..Anybody own one..rode one?

I bought my Can-Am 500 Outlander in 2007 and love it. I've never had any problems with it at all. The HP is shocking and the ride is great, it's the best riding ATV that I've ever rode on.

I have a 2003 Can Am outlander 400 and a 2002 Polaris about the same size. The outlander rides better than the Polaris but is hard starting in cold weather. Overall its a toss up in my opinion.

My son has a 370 I think it is. Know for a fact it will run 70+ mph. Can work it hard all day pulling to. Climb a lot of hills. Handles very well. They aren't cheap but worth the cost.

Only problem he has had was when his brother packed the radiator full of mud and it went into a "save" mode. Thought he had cooked the motor but we filled the radiator back up and it has been fine ever since.

My brother has a can am side by side, I don't know much about the wheelers..... yes it's fast... yes it has a great ride...... but.... it's a mechanics nightmare. The thing is full of electrical problems.

I own a honda rancher and an outlander L. The can-am has a better ride and better 4x4. The honda starts better and is easier on fuel, but hands down if I was going to be on one all day, it would be the can-am. And I payed more for the honda

Your 2003 Can-Am is carbureted, in 2008 they are all became fuel injected eliminating cold starting problems and instant throttle response.

I like my Polaris...2005 400 Sportsman

I wish I could afford a New ATV ...I would look around

But Cost is the big thing , That , Auto shifting, and Reliability.

...so Though I might look, what ive had with this Polaris 400 would probably be the deciding factor.

One guy compared his can am to a Polaris
They make them near me, all I hear is how much the Polaris breaks down

My can am starts just fine in -0, I do not like riding it on those days lol , but starts just fine.
It's got a good ride , so far this trapping season put on a 1000 miles. Because it was to wet and muddy for a pickup. Now to much snow for pickup in places to get to cat traps so back on wheeler. No chains on it yet goes good.
In 4 wheel low it will use some gas on a 850. Reason for size if you are looking to might go put tracks on it your better off with a 650 or better.

So you've never actually owned one?

BomBardier is a Canadian dealership that bought out the Can Am name which used to make off road vehicles. They have taken over the atv industry. Polaris in the last ten years has switched their gears more towards the motorcycle luxury side. Quality wise you aren't gonna go wrong with a Can Am.

Had three Honda's over the years, I was planning on buying a Polaris, sales guy kept bringing me back to the Honda, I asked why, he said take a look at our Polaris warranty stack of papers on his desk, then he showed me his Honda stack, the Polaris stack of papers was a couple inches high, there was maybe one or two papers in the Honda pile.
Sales guy asked me then, which one would you rather own, easy decision for me.
I don't have to own a Polaris, I can't count how many people said they had trouble with theirs, guys in desert Storm said they had a lot of trouble with Polaris ATVs in Iraq, so I figured there is no reason to buy one to find out

Polaris quit making Polaris motorcycle, now only make the Polaris/Indian bike

Yep..This thread sounds better than the "Honda Rubicon" thread there was quite a bit of negative posts about the "Rubicons"..mostly in the shift features..
