could be because your trigger is on the ferrules instead of the spring.

Ryan the wolf did that when he hit the end of the snare, the trigger was set holding the spring together, after the catch it got pushed behind the stops and wedged in place.

The only thing we use them for are wolves and wolverine, about 3/4 make it to site without springing open. I followed the senneker instructions on which way it should go on his Youtube video, but apparently you know more about this than he does LOL, which you had shown me that picture before i made 10 dozen

I like the system, the only thing I don't like is when those dang spring pop during transport. PITA resetting them in the freezing cold.
Yes ..... about half of mine pop open in transport and boy are they ever a pain trying to reset in the field when it's cold !! Anyone with ideas of a good way to handle these things to stay set while bouncing around on the snowgo ... I'm all ears !

I’m thinking a couple strokes of a file would prevent that from happening again. You still got the wolf though so that’s good. Right on man.

I have the new ones, the best way to transport them is tight fitting them in a tote and using big canvas game bags for padding. works pretty well.

On the older triggers that are touchy you can use a 3 cornered file and file the trigger portion in a tiny bit on an angle and that will make them hold a bit better. I even thought about trying a tiny round file to just create a small indent to help them hold better. In any case I have a hundred snares made up with the old triggers and the smaller springs which I am slowly dismantling and changing over to the magnum spring and new clips. They were made with a roll of wire that had a bad memory in any case and giving me a lot of setting grief.
