That seems like a rather short inspection period for buyers to look at the goods. I realize that not every buyer is interested in everything but it still takes time to look at goods or wait your turn to look at them. And unlike NAFA and FHA that offer show lots, a buyer looking to buy coyotes will most likely want to look at all 4000!! That takes time.

If your sale gets much bigger, you might have to add an extra day or two. Also, more selling days. smile

NOTE - I am in no way running down or criticizing your sale. I think it is great that it is doing so well. Just making a comment.

Honestly I think the only reason why this sale is not any bigger because of room constants.
But I have never been there but .
Back in the day Colorado had up to 10,000 coyotes at sale.
If memory serves me.

An experienced buyer can look at those furs in 4-5 hours. I know, I have flipped hides for a few of them.

I'm sure you've flipped coyotes for plenty of buyers but I still question if any buyer - including George Kortum - can grade 1000 coyotes an hour. That is 16 coyotes a minute. One every 4 seconds. That is fast. And to keep up that pace for 4 hours. And then go on to grade everything else.

Possible yes.

Inspection starts at 2pm Monday and continues all day Tuesday and all day Wednesday. Most buyers can go through twice if needed.

I flipped coyotes for a guy named Al from Iowa,he could grade em faster than I could put em on the table. I was dripping sweat. he told me to keep an even pace so he could 'concentrate'. Somebody walked by and said hi Al, it blew his mind, so we took a break.

It is possible. We went thru em twice.

We and they always seem to get through it. Last year with 4300 coyotes I threw them 4 times in 2 days.

The unique thing about Colorado, if you wanna stay late, we will certainly have somebody there. I remember a year of throwing stuff at 1 in the morning. As overwhelming as it is, the Colorado crew is a well oiled machine. Everyone knows there job and what needs to be done. We will get through it this year like we do every other year. Keep your head down, push forward and stay focused.

My call on preliminary prices? They will sell for exactly what someone is willing to pay for them that day. Nothing more, nothing less. I have a educated opinion, but it is just that, a educated opinion.

Some people will die in a car accident tomorrow as well, how many that is I have no idea. Im guessing somewhere in the average of what the national average is.

Weather is easier. You look outside and one can figure out exactly what it is going to do at that moment of the day.
