Does anyone have a source for wire stock that is used to make body grip triggers?
I am building wire trigger cage traps. Have had good success
3 cats, 0 misfires, 0 refusals. I know there are previous posts on wire triggers for cage traps,
I would be happy to share my design with whom ever would like. Thanks

I have been trying to source this type of material myself. Finding it long enough has been hard. Longest and one source I have found is Unicycle.com they sell 54" 12 gage spokes for penny farthing bikes(those old-fashioned very large front wheel bikes) at 2.00 per spoke. Very interested in seeing your design because the treadle pan type cages really clog up a lot in our MN snows(even covered).

I've learned enough thru the years to now know that I don't know enough. KNOWLEDGE IS FREEDOM.

I use the 10ga or 11ga that comes in the large rolls. Seems to work well. I do have to straighten or re-shape them from time to time.

What you need is 1/8" cold rolled round stock. It comes in 12' lengths. I buy MTP 220 triggers and replace the wire with this.

If you want that stiff of wire, find someone that installs drop/grid ceilings. The suspension wire comes in 20' lengths and is about 12 gauge. My triggers use standard 14 gauge tie wire with out issue

Home Depot sells the 12 ga ceiling hanger wire in 6 foot lengths. If you don’t see it ask for it, it’s with the ceiling tiles
