I have a chronic issue with breaking sunglasses.About to a rate of one pair breaks in 1-3 months. All the breaks happen as a result of taking them off and caching them on my hat as I am in and out of buildings all day so I'm taking them off a lot. Usually the breaks are just behind the hinges, though the last two pairs have cracked off by the nose-piece.

My preferred style of sunglasses are the amber/yellow tinted sports or semi-rimless sunglasses.

In short, I'm looking for something in that style that have frames that are indestructible.

I do the same thing and mine don't break. How big is your head. LOL
Did you ever try the strap that goes behind your head? It is a sport item I believe

Problem with the keepers is that eventually they just get in my way and get ripped off.

My hat size is 7 3/8 though that really only works when my haircut is fairly fresh..

ZTEK safety glasses for $3 bucks a pair. I buy them by the dozen. I have them all over the country. Same with pencils. I can start the day with 6 pencils and end the day with none. No lead in my pencil. laugh

After breaking multiple $20 pairs after a month or two of use I now just go to Lowes and by the cheap tinted polycarbonate safety glasses. They last until they are too scratched up to see out of. No frames though, sorry. They are certainly are not optical glass but polycarbonate does the most important thing and that is block the UV.

Sorry about your pencil Gary.

I get the YUM brand at walmart for 3 bucks a pair. Polarized for spotting ‘rat runs in the water.

Although i dont particularly like most of oaklys styles... They make some tough sun glasses. Ive had two pair over about 15 years. The first pair were about ten years old when they fell off my head and were rolled over with the trailer dolly i was pushing. They exploded! But i managed to find all the pieces but the nose pad...i snapped them back together and kept on truckin. Amazing none of the joints were toast. Had i found that pad id probably still be wearing them. My wife finally bought me a new pair for Christmas and ive been rockin them since...that was about 5 years ago. They do run about 180 for the pair i have but i feel they are worth it for how long they last.

The hinge on the cheapos is small and weak. They are made to break.
I went to Calcutta glasses 10 or so years ago. I wear them for safety glasses at work on sunny days.
The hinges don't even seem to weaken. 30$
They were a little cheaper until the skateboard kids thought the logo was cool
They are polarized as well. Can't go fishing without them.

I'm not easy on sunglasses either...I wear Costa's … a little pricy but frames are tough and they stand behind their products. Copper lenses are great for driving and Gray lenses for fishing

2nd the Costa's. I am on my 3rd pair. This pair cost me $11. My old ones got to the point i couldnt see out of them. Scratches etc. I sent them to Costa. A few days later they called me and told me to pick out a new pair. $11 for return shipping and the warranty claim and i had a new pair of glasses.

I get all my sunglasses for free from work. Railroad encourages us to take safety related items like safety glasses, ear plugs, an various styles of gloves home with us. These look just like sunglasses and i have never had a pair break.

Shady Ray sunglasses are real good. Lifetime warranty on breaking them or losing them. Yea I don't understand the losing part either. But I have a couple different styles I like them a lot....

I wear WileyX Brick and have gone to the transitions , mine are also prescription , the issue with having a set tint is that your always taking them off or changing them.

with the transitions they just darken when it is bright out and when you go back inside they go back to clear in a minute.

they are also approved safety glasses so yes I wear my safety glasses just about every waking moment of the day and they have saved me a few times

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
