I don't watch below zero a lot but did see an episode last evening. Andy looked like he is battling a health issue. He was using crutches and lost some weight and looked poor in general. I guess his health issues may have been revealed on a previous episode that I hadn't seen.

I don't think I caught it all, but he said something about trying to upright a snow machine, and dislocated his hip. He didn't get it treated right away and developed an infection. Had to go to Florida for surgery and recovery. I believe it had been 6 months last night since he had been in Alaska.

Thank you. I don't watch these programs regularly but when you see what use to be a very active fellow looking so bad I had to ask. I see he has a new girlfriend. He will keep her working. She needs to pack on a few pounds to make it up there.

I wondered what happened to his first gal on the show. He has a bad temper when things don't go smoothly.

He brought a new girlfriend back from Florida. She said that she was a nurse in Florida but had met him before on a canoe trip to Alaska. She said that her group had stopped and Andy pulled up in his boat and let his dogs out. She said that they peed all over their gear. She said" that's how I met Andy"

Ohhhhhhhh.......a kinky one!!!!

They show these guys leaving for a day or two on their outings. Always wonder who take care of their dogs while they are out. Never really say on them shows. Really just how far away is the nearest neighbor if they can run there take care of their dogs a couple days?

Mac, I noticed that in last nights show as well. The producers probably think that we are not smart enough to notice things like that. Of course, there is probably a lot more that goes on with these shows that we do not know about either.

From what I have learned is many of these areas aren't too far off the real civilization grid. Turn the camera pan towards another direction and it shows a different environment.

Some of the locations are in or near Nenana outside of Fairbanks on the way to Anchorage. Still....much more wilderness then the vast majority down here.

My first girlfriend had more bush around her then what they have on some of these shows. I haven't seen her for a while so she may have had the place cleared out by now.

I guess the perception of the remote bush sells a story line to the non knowing public viewers.

Yes, when I tuned in and saw Andy it was a surprise.

He started sounding like Sue from Kavic(sp). "I'm just not able to do this or that", Blah, Blah, Blah!

I wonder how long that gal from Florida will last. He can be a bear about things.

If you guys get on google earth or any topo program you can see right where Andy lives, its pretty remote even more so in the winter time. Just look up Eagle Alaska and realize that road is closed from Oct-April/May time frame.

I see how that could have been taken out of context by some. You fellas need to clean up your way of thinking a bit. There is a difference between the bush and a bush in referencing I do believe.

I will try to be more sensitive with how I state things in the future.

I have had to wipe my pc off a couple of times in the last few days due to reading some comments and drinking at the same time.:)

I need to stop drinking while reading some of these posts. Some of these guys are a hoot........
