I agreed with Nittany that we shouldn't bring his thread down with negative comments... I stopped watching the NFL about the time those crybabies started kneeling and how the NFL handled it. So those of us not watching the game, what are you up to today? I'll be running my line checking sets. Might try to get some local cat sets in as well

ABF for me. (Anything But Football). Finished a couple knives this morning. Pound together 50 more wolf snares this afternoon, in between shoveling snow. Feed the wood stove in the steam bath in later afternoon for this evening's sweat. Truthfully, I don't even have any idea who's playing in the Stupor Bowl; couldn't care less. Don't have a TV.

Lots of tincturing of various ingredients, I started the agenda yesterday and will continue today. Beaver and cat meat to grind, oil sacs to drain, pods to grind. Getting low on many usable musk's, crystals, powders and herbs that need months to work out. Time to get in shape for the shaking and agitation routine once again. I feel like a bartender when I start this routine.  Once that is done there will be the orders to pack to get ready for Monday. Lost interest in football for good about the same as others that feel the same as I do. I have plenty of other more enjoyable things to do and then put some fur up. Getting this all done will put me into tonight real easy then its time to bring in more firewood for a few days. Weather is getting very warm as I type this, almost 60 here, unreal weather swing in a couple days. Below zero 2 days ago.

I was recently doing some remodeling work for a customer and I found out she worked for cable company that supplies my service. So naturally I complained about the high cost of basic cable which I rarely watch. I ask her about any lesser packages. She told me that by losing the "sports package" I could save $27.00 per month. The only time I watch that group of five channels is about twice a month when free UFC MMA fights are on. MMA is the only sport that interests me. I now pay $27.00 less per month. When I told her I'd have to find some other way to watch the free fights, she informed me that, as a cable company employee, she gets everything, even the premium channels and PPV's for free and that I was welcome to watch the fights at her house anytime I wanted to!

The Rams have a guy cheer leader. The local VFW showed all the NFL games this season. One player makes more moolah than all these haters combined. Heck, the refs make 200k and can't afford glasses. Just a couple things to help out, in their time of need. Good classy move by the Lion.

Got some canvas to sew for a customer and when I am done with that and posting some bs on here I'll cut the pipes and bars for my DIY chainsaw mill, drill and tap the holes that need to be in it. If it stops raining I may even stat up the big generator and weld the thing together. Don't have time for NFL and if I had the time I would watch barnacles build their homes instead of watching the Super Bowl .

I quit watching the NFL years ago when it seemed the players got to big for their britches. And most got a big head when they got their big salaries. It's sad that we as God fearing creatures put too much stock in a bunch of cry babies throwing a temper tantrum. That said I realize that there is a few who take their talents and do work to bring glory to our Maker! Just my humble opinion. More important..... much more important things to do than worship a football games and teams!!

I might go for a Skidoo ride today, but I'm not sure. It's about to snow 3" to 7" tonight, so I might just stock the house with firewood and settle in. I washed 3 coyotes last night and they are hang drying, lurking at me.

By looking at this thread ....none of Yinz Evah played any sports in High School..or Jr High....and most here were probably the “last Kid “ to be picked in gym class too ! Playing a neighborhood pick up game of football when you were 13-14... everyone wanted to be Joe Nameth....and in Hockey..Bobby Orr.... We knew these players cus we watched them on a contraption called a TV.....albeit a small black and white 13 inch ,with tin foil for an antenna. That’s where it all started.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I used to watch Super bowls once and a while, even a regular game now and then. I admit it was entertaining, especially if I'd get a little wager going with somebody as to who was going to win.
But I will never understand the fanaticism I see rabid fans displaying for there favorite teams, whether hockey, basketball, football, whatever. What compels a man to wear a duplicate of a team jersey with the number and sometimes even the name of his favorite player on it? What compels fans to decorate their cars and homes with flags, banners, posters and bumper stickers of their favorite teams and players? Or to pay three, four or even five times the worth of a pair of sneakers simply because it was endorsed by their sports hero?
And when you consider that many of the teams these folks seem to worship are populated by America-hating (Anthem-kneeling), women-beating, low-life thugs it gets even more confusing. There have been riots over a certain team winning or losing! I remember when Dale Earnhardt got himself killed. Adoring fans went into morning and flew the number 3 flag at half mast for years...
Like I said, I'll never understand the fanaticism.

Nessy, I will watch college football all day long, because they aren't spoiled, over-paid, crybabies... YET. NFL I am done with. I never played football in high school or pee wee only because my folks wouldn't let me. I played my fair share of pick up tackle football games with my friends though. You're right, we all wanted to be Steve Young, or Barry Sanders or Brett Favre.

But I never felt the need to wear somebody else's jersey. You got your Tom Brady jersey on now or are you going to wait until tomorrow? Are you sleeping under Patriot blankets tonight? Matching pillows as wall? Nope...don’t own a patriots hat...or jersey....or Bumpah stickah.....The last Pats game I went to was in the old Sullivan Stadium...and no Partoit Thong either ..LOL

I was recently doing some remodeling work for a customer and I found out she worked for cable company that supplies my service. So naturally I complained about the high cost of basic cable which I rarely watch. I ask her about any lesser packages. She told me that by losing the "sports package" I could save $27.00 per month. The only time I watch that group of five channels is about twice a month when free UFC MMA fights are on. MMA is the only sport that interests me. I now pay $27.00 less per month. When I told her I'd have to find some other way to watch the free fights, she informed me that, as a cable company employee, she gets everything, even the premium channels and PPV's for free and that I was welcome to watch the fights at her house anytime I wanted to! What's she look like, lug? I hate watching the show boating and the look-at-me acts, but Iove to watch good football. Brady, Belichick are a class act and the Patriots do little to draw attention to themselves -except play great football. This year's team doesn't have the talent of some of the past NE teams have had, but they are one of two teams still playing. And who cares if Brady's a trumpster?

Not a football fan I did watch the NFL honors last night a lot of good things being done by a lot of the players it was interesting not even a hint of the crybabies during the whole thing maybe just another case of a few ruining it for the good ones.
My beef is with the NFL for their lack of leadership and not nipping it in the bud when they should of took charge and being PC scared of it! If the players were as racist as the media would want us to believe then why would the Black guys have White wives and White guys Black wives. They seemed like a pretty tight bunch for all of the BS they put out there. Seen more hate mongering at the award shows then this NFL awards show.
If your patriotic today you must be a Nationalist or a Nazi and they try to make you believe that garbage! LOL

If you like football, watching the games is great entertainment, nothing more for most of us. I'm not much of a movie watcher but some folks spend hours every week watching them. If you look at everything through political lenses, stare at msnbc or foxnews for your entertainment. Great to live in a country where we have so many choices for how we spend our down time.
