A little explanation here. In 2011 my brother-in-law (who owns this company) ended his business partnership with another person. Now he had hundreds of clients who had paid to liquidate their timeshares and no one to do it. So he asked my wife and I if we would do it. I gave up my wildlife control business and quit making snares and became a computer geek. We made offices out of 2 bedrooms in our house and expanded to 4 total employees. Since 2011 we have liquidated over 10,000 timeshares, made my brother-in-law a rich man and a comfortable life for the wife and I.
He has some shyster friend in Montana who has talked the brotherinlaw into letting him run the business and hiring minimum wage workers to do the liquidations. This is the business model brotherinlaw used prior to 2011 and it was a failure. Oh Well.
On the bright side I will get my wish and be a full time snapping turtle trapper this summer!
Think I may become a bear hunting guide/service. Here in NJ we are over run with bears (big bears like this 700 pounder in the picture) and lots of hunters in the metropolitan area want to get a bear.
Or I can become a fishing guide for young kids

Wow, huge black bear, huge gold fish and literally a truck load of turtles. That looks a lot more fun than dealing with disgruntled time-share owners.

Wonderful, greed before all including family with that brother-in-law.

Montana high line coyotes-oooh,but if your like me the bottom would drop out of the market the day after i got there and red and mink prices would go through the roof.

pick something you like that puts food on the table without losing touch with your other passions.

I have made more catching and selling big goldfish, like that one and the occasional koi, in a year than I have ever made trapping furbearers in a year. The same can be said for trapping turtles to furbearers too.

I got $250.00 for a 32 inch tricolor koi I caught. In this market, that's the same value as 50 put up raccoons.

Sounds like an opportunity to go into business for yourself liquidating timeshares.

Sorry to hear that Eric. You will do well regardless. What Montana doesn't need is more minimum wage jobs.Doesn't sound like a good business plan.

You can't hire a fast food worker for minimum wages in MT right now. Anybody that wants to work is working and not for minimum wages.

Sounds like a good time to change gears and make those dreams a reality. Time to get ready to chase some turtles, bears, and fish.

Just remember when he comes back to you, your price doubles!

I hope it works out for you. So, can you explain how this business works and how you charge your client and what do you do for them? Not totally clear how it works.
Thanks

That's my grandson with the koi, he snuck over to the neighbors and caught it out of their little rubber-lined pond. Was proud as a peacock! We took it back. I do however have access to a 2 acre pond with loads of them, I may net some out to sell. At times I have used some for turtle bait.

You can easily get $20.00 each for goldfish that size if you sell them on Craigslist during the Spring pond season. They have a tendency to get anchor worms on them, which are a type of hydra, a quick dip in a saltwater bath will kill the worms and make them fall off. I made many thousands of dollars catching and reselling large goldfish. If you don't want to hassle with selling to the public, pet stores will typically pay $8.00 each for ones that size and sell them for $24.00 to $30.00 each. During the Spring prespawn feed I would catch more than I could hold and take them straight to the warehouse of a major pet store chain. I could make a few thousand a weekend catching and selling goldfish in the Spring. I used tiny gold plated treble hooks and strawberry flavored carp bait to hook them and a cast net once they started spawning.

I wish I still had some good places to catch large goldfish in big numbers. It was fun and profitable.

Keith
