I know 6 people with them and and they are split on how good they are.

All agree they are too expensive.

I'm in the hunt too. My wife wants to try one of those purple mattresses. They are only a thousand compared to the sleep numbers. My brother loves his sleep number.

I bought one two years ago. The wife loves it because she can change the mattress firmness throughout the year. If you dont like rock hard firmness like the floor then it would probably be a good purchase. I'm a guy that prefers the hard floor.

Gibb,

I prefer the floor to, but like you it is for my wife. Can you adjust it firm enough? Is it barable?

We bought one last summer. I'm OK with it but my wife hates it. It may end being a very expensive mistake.

We dropped over $2,000 on a sleep number. One of us likes a much firmer mattress than the other. Makes for an odd platform with a noticeable break in the middle. It didn't work out for us.

It's a lot of money for what is really just two air mattresses in a foam frame.

When I was a kid my grandparents had a king frame on one side was a twin mattress of one firmness on the other side of the twin mattress of another firmness and it matched up perfect in the middle.

I think if a fella got him self a Sleep Numbers Bed, a My Pillow, and some of them insoles from the Good Feet Store. Guy could cry him self to sleep and get the best night sleep of his whole life. Maybe I wouldn't even wake up at 3am to pee????
Might have to put that combo on my bucket list..

We bought one about 10 years ago. We both love it. I had back trouble before we bought it, I haven't had any back problems since. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. It does take a little time to find the right number that fits your body.

We purchased two years ago. Love it. No regrets at all. Can adjust as needed. Lot of money but it has been worth it for us. Son just purchased the purple mattress, I'll ask his opinion.

We have an adjustable bed and love it!!!! No its not a sleep number but we went with a sealy posturpidic mattress . If you have back or legs problems they are a great item. Makes it easy to watch tv , better breathing. or just sitting up to read . Hard to stay anywhere away for more than one night it feels so good !!! Plus when I had my spinal fusion it was a life saver !!!!!

Some years ago, my wife talked me into trying a water bed for one year. If I didn't like it after a year, we would get rid of it. I held her to that and after one year, it was gone. Just about every morning, I woke up with a backache. Hard to roll over and when you did, the whole bed moved waking up your spouse.

Eventually we got a sleep number bed which we both really like. I like a firmer mattress, she prefers softer. You can do that with a sleep number bed. Also, because of the independent air mattresses, if one person moves, the other doesn't notice it.

It's the best mattress I've ever slept on. The downside is that it is very overpriced.

What has kept me from buying a sleep number bed is a friend who told me that he had an air leak in his, and they wouldn't fix it. No refund. No options. Probably has his wife sleep on the flat side, knowing him.

Paid all that money for a sleep number bed and set it on 8 because I wanted to sleep in. That thing don't work at all, I still woke up at 6.

So I guess the Sleep Number must be for the hours rather than the time so the next night I set it on 10 to see if I wake up after 10 hours of sleep. Still woke up at 6.

What a ripoff.

Had one, wife hated it so down the road it went, got a regular mattress, wife hated it, went to join the numbers bed, got a memory foam, wife hated it, bye, bye.
Anyone see a pattern?
I can sleep on a 40 year old broken spring regular mattress, but I still have the wife....
