Legislators both left and right love this kind of legislation. It removes the issue from their realm of responsibility. They can always then just shrug their shoulders and point their finger at the department of whatever when there is and unpopular issue.
Your approach to fight this change in law is to berate them and make them feel guilty for wanting to neglect their responsibilities as legislators. You don't even have to address whether you are anti-hunting or pro hunting or trapping, that's not the issue here. Of course we know it really is, but there's a better way to fight this.

Might be a good thing in the long run with them going after multiple fronts at the same time it might wake up enough people and originations for them to organize to fight against this rather then picking off one group at a time! Now the hunters/trappers might form a plan to address this problem.

This way the elected officials that were voted into office do not have to answer to there constituents because the action was made in committee. JMO

In Michigan we have the Natural resources commission, it works very well. The control all hunting and fishing rules and laws. Also trapping. The seven people commission are appointed by the Gov. They cover much more than mentioned previously. Before the commission if you wanted to a one (1) day to the rabbit season. You would have to get your State representative to interduce a bill, then the bill would have to go through the hole process of getting the bill passed. It was a long process. JMO

We'll see how well the system works with our new Democrat governor.I personally am pretty skeptical about it after seeing how they used it to gut our 'cat season in the mid '90's.
