Thanks Pike for putting this on. If this project is to happen we need all the exposure we can get.
When Yukon Men was starting the show it was going to be just about me. One guy from Tanana and then they were going to find a couple more from other parts of the state. I sent them stuff about others from Tanana and they thought they would try just doing it about Tanana people and so the show happened that way. This is the same way. I'm just helping make something positive in the village here happen. The production crew (one of my best cameramen on Yukon Men and his media savvy wife) has barely the resources to film me at present.
If this effort fails I'll have an expensive professionally done video about my life for my YouTube channel and we all go home. If it happens and was ever big, and a series of documentaries, it'll include my life which is my family, friends and people in this town - much like before.
Except the reason this cameraman is doing it is because he felt a side was missed of the true nature of the life here in favor of the drama in the past show and he wants to capture that way more this time. Basically a lot of money and time has been spent so far by production (Ryan and Kari) and we thought we'd see if the thousands of people wanting the show back on for over a year now would be willing to help fund it.
One thing about doing it this way is the exact same quality of video is taken, if not better (we now and later would only be using the best cameramen/producers and we know who they are) There are no top heavy companies full of presidents and executives needing big salaries. And all the editing is simple with the software available nowadays. A 1/4 million dollar big company TV episode can be made better with a few right people for a tiny, tiny fraction of that $. We just need the tiny, tiny fraction to do it. And so the Kickstarter fundraising thing. Hope this explains some. Best to everyone. Back to skinning marten and my wolf on the floor. Stan
