Ok guys,

about to put new tires on the chevy 4x4 I don't want anything that will kill the bank just something like a good ALL TERRAIN tire, not into mud riding but just enough to get me out of a sticky situation.... Thank YOU!

You're going to get as many different answers as there are tires on the market.

I'd go with the falken wildpeak at3w tire. They wear good and go pretty good.

I just yesterday had Ironman tires installed. I did some research seem like good reviews. These are 6ply and very aggressive all terrain tire. They bite very well.

I have no idea how they will stand up but for dollar to dollar and apples to apples these where the lowest cost for the same type other brands.

I have owned the Cooper AT3 for the last 8 years. You get great millage out of them, good traction. I just installed the new Cooper AT3 XLT solid white letter tire. They changed the tread design as well on these.

Hankooks for me too. been running them on the yota for years now. Used to run firestones, goodyears and the like. Had a flat about once a week, usually off of locast thorns. I think I've had a total of two flat tires since I switched. Get the heaviest ply they make in your size. They ride a little rougher, but you won't have flats!

Which of the tires mentioned can be had for about $400-500 max? I have a truck I just use for hunting/trapping. Just need something with decent tread for mud/clay.

You need to specify size. There's a HUGE difference between prices of 15" tires and 20" tires.

The original tires on my 2007 dodge 2500 Cummins were Michelins. They were a highway tire tread and went 70,000 miles. I had never had tires go that far on any car or truck I had owned so I went back with Michelins, but this time with their LTX A/T. It's a more aggressive tread but not a big lugged mud tire by any means, just something better than a highway tire in some mud or snow. I currently have over 87,000 miles on this set and they are not done yet. When I replace them later this year it will be with another set of Michelins.

You can find tires with a lower initial cost but Michelins are very hard to beat when looking at cost per mile.

Check e-bay tires for tires in your size. Often cheapest with free shipping.

I got 85k on my duratracs and they still have some more life in em. I still have very good traction, so no I am not running bald tires.

Firestone Transforce AT wear the best on my 3/4T Chevy CC. 62K on the last set and could have ran longer if I wasn’t going into winter and needed good traction for snow plowing.

Nitto Terra Grapplers on my diesel F350. 40k on them and at least another 10k before I’ll replace them. 3rd set of Nitto for me. Great tires imo
