The season is closed here in Kansas. It’s been a rough one for sure with all the moisture. I’ll be counting the days until the next season.

That first picture is a good looking coyote. Should bring top dollar.

We did have a ton of rain and snow this season in Kansas. Think i was only able to keep traps set for 6 weeks or so. Judging by your pics you had a good season and a lot of fun. Hate to see this season end but the now its time to start prepping for the next season. Congrats on some good looking fur!

I went down to SW Ks the last two weeks to finish the season. Had a minor surgery back the first part of Dec, and between being hard to heal it up and the weather, I didn't get to trap much. So I escaped the great white NE of Ks, (I'm about thirty miles fro Ne) and went to the sandy, dry (by comparison) and sunny end of Ks. Skinned the last yote on Valentines day in sixty five degree weather, was home four and a half hours later with twenty four degree temps at six thirty! Just about turned around and went back!

Lee, I was down in the back for the first two weeks of December and couldn’t trap. It just so happens that was the only two dry weeks of the winter. When I finally got going one of my employees had the sun in his eyes and turned short while I was at a stop sign and nailed me. Back finally better, now no trapping truck. Trapped in my work truck that gets about 7 miles per gallon for a few days then a big rain. I pulled my traps and set a few snares after that.
sick

Thanks. It was a two hole set. At least that’s what I call it . I caught him at a old dump. I have no idea where he found that. I sure didn’t see it when I made the set. It took me about 30 minutes to get that out of the chain!

Nice pics! Looks like you had some fun despite the wreck and back issue.

LOL. It was a good season. I hindsight maybe all the moisture was a blessing. I haven’t snared in years and the weather forced me to do it. I forgot how relaxing and rewarding it was building snares, and how effective they are!

The snares saved my chops both in SD and in SW Ks. When your down in the back, you can still set snares, not so much bent over setting traps!
