Thanks for sharing TurkeyTime. Didn't seem bad for green. The otter seemed LOW, but I didn't see them. Could've been early or singed?
Gonna go see the groeny wagon myself today with 40 put-up rats. I'll post my results, for those interested.

Maybe St. Joe will be on my route next year.I could beat that cat price all day long. I've seen several MO cats that $40 might be a little much for, honestly. Our cats don't hit prime until February. Our cat season closes January 31st. Cats caught before January are almost always FLAT! And most of our cats are usually caught before January. If trappers won't catch stuff when it's prime, or as close as they're able, the price should reflect that. It's up to the buyers to keep a lot of the junk fur outta the pipeline by turning it away, or giving what it's worth, not much. Armchair fur buying is an art most haven't mastered, although, we, including me, like to speculate. You really should try cheering up a little tbn. I do enjoy your post though, we all have a different perspective on life and it's events.

You do tell it the way you see it. That I do respect. And in-general, I agree, lot of people have become overly soft and sensitive.

At 32 and 33 inches those otter were just this year's kits (late litter) which would explain the low prices.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

There were several guys there. I'd say around 30. Maybe a couple more. Mostly green fur brought in. There was some stuff put-up though, and from a distance, it looked like it was well-handled fur. Course I wasn't close enough to really see, and never had any hands-on. Only heard a couple prices, saw one guys sheet. He did ok, he wasn't complaining. I'm not either, for what I took and what they offered. These were all boarded rats. Caught late December til early February. I was complimented on my put-up by the gwf guys. They were nice. Did their job effectively and efficiently. Made me an offer, and I took it. Didn't see many coyotes or muskrats brought in. Mostly coons, green coons. I know not everyone has the ability, the time, the space, the equipment, etc to put-up their fur, but it makes me cringe to see most fur sold green. Good for the buyer, and if the seller is satisfied enough to sell it, it's a deal, their deal. The 8 that went for $2.50 were small rats. Honestly, I thought they'd bring $2. The ave. price gwf paid me for the rats was $4.60.
