Thinking of doing this antelope and mule deer hunt. Has anybody hunted with SnS outfitters hunt # 5? This is a 5 day camp hunt, how is the food and lodging? How were the guides? What can I expect for antelope and mule deer quality? Does anybody have any references?

Unless you are looking for a quality trophy antelope buck I would not recommend paying a guide to hunt antelope. I did pay a guide and learned a lot a couple of years ago, but last year I did a successful DIY hunt in 2 days on public ground. What I learned from the guided hunt helped but not enough to justify the $2000+ price tag. Without what I had learned it might have taken me a 3rd day to tag out, and this was in a hunt area with limited public land (so good odds of drawing a tag). Antelope hunting is fun but not very hard if you can make a 300-400 yd shot.

You might consider going guided for the mule deer and then go do antelope on your own.

They have quite a bit of ground, they run quite a few hunters through, antelope won't be a problem, deer numbers are still down state wide.

I can't speak to the quality of this outfitter, but I agree with EdP, go DIY. Every state in the west offers maps of all public hunting lands. Wyoming has a ton of BLM land with good numbers of deer and antelope. Again, if you're looking for a monster wall-hanger, go for the outfitter, that will improve your odds of finding that big boy. WY and SD have good mule deer and antelope hunting with plenty of public land. If you're interested in hearing more about a DIY hunt in SD, PM me and I'd be happy to help you.

I hav talked with the owner Sy on a few occasions. I booked hunt #1 for antelope back in 2011 but did not get to go because I failed to draw a tag. They advertised 100% draw in their Antelope areas for average/better than average hunts. They take care of the application process for you. Seems to be a well ran operation. Not drawing a tag kinda left a bad taste in my mouth as when I got my notification that I did not draw I found out that the unit that SnS had applied for me has never been %100 draw. A draw is a draw but I think it would have been better business to let the hunter know that 100% is not 100%. I was refunded my hunt deposit etc.
I still think they are a great outfit and well ran based on others I have talked too that have hunted with them.

Last year I inquired about hunt 10 which is Antelope and management mule deer, Sy informed me that they make the decision on how many management mule deer hunts will take place every Dec for the next year and that he would call or email me when the decision was made. Never did hear from him.

In talking with others that have done it I am leaning toward a DIY hunt

I doubt there are any areas of WY with 100% draw for a rifle, any antelope tag for nonresidents. I'm pretty sure that residents still have to draw in a lottery for an antelope buck tag. Anyone planning a trip to hunt the west needs to start buying preference points a few years in advance in order to make sure you will draw a tag when the time comes to take time off from work and make the trek west. Nothing worse than making all the plans and then getting the rejection letter.
FYI ... archery tags for deer and antelope are over the counter for nonresidents.

About 6 years ago I was SE of Worland hunting public land (BLM) for antelope and deer. Way back off the county (dirt road). Old native from Ten Sleep was stopped talking with me when 2 four wheelers came into view several hundred yards to the NE of us. He assumed it was someone from SNS Outfitters. It's against the law to ride anywhere off of an existing "road" when on BLM land. He said they are known for doing it. Didn't make my day. They turned around and went back the direction they came from. Being a non-resident I don't appreciate people breaking the law and messing up my hunt. There are locals that are guilty of it also.

Ahhh, no, archery tags for deer and antelope are not over the counter in Wyoming.

They are in SD Cattrax, that's what I meant. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
