Do the wire hoops require a lot of adjustment for size as you hoop your pelts?

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but I find the hoops fairly easy. I open it up so there's just enough room to have 2 cm at head and tail. After I put on hog rings at the nose and tail it seems like it's not stretched well but after you start going to the sides then working your way around it pulls up tight. My last one resulted in a nice oval shape too.

FWIW, Andrew

That's what I was after, Andrew. I didn't know if there were constant adjustments that had to be made as you worked your way around the hoop. I don't own any yet but I've been thinking of buying some to see how well they work. Thanks for the input.

I love 'em - they're all I use.
Start as Andrew stated Nose - tail - sides - and then just divide the spots for rings in half as you work your way around the hoop.

Be advised that some folks prefer wood with the NAFA size rings on them - it makes grading and sizing easier.
I don't worry about it these days since they all go to the hatter's market.
