Alright, I got about 10 carcasses in my garage frozen and was wondering if anyone has used the feet off coyotes to use at dirt holes to scope bait and put down the hole? Figured with their glands in the paw it might not hurt?

It does work. I like to let mine dry out before using.

I use them a lot. Where legal,, I like to stick them under a rock or just partially bury and leave just a little sticking out. I can’t see where it wouldn’t work sticking them down a dirt hole either.

Got a friend that used fox feet at a couple dirt holes this season and caught some coyotes.

I've used them with success. What I do is put the foot vertically in a hole with just the pad above ground, pound the dirt tight around the foot and smear some gland lure or give it a shot of urine. If you miss the coyote it will actually pull the foot and it will be gone.

Do you use them "as is"?

Sometimes when I catch one I'll make a paw set on edge of circle after remaking it

I just put the last four I skinned in the freezer! Kind of funny this post came up. Does it matter if it’s a front foot or hind? Wasn’t sure if there gland was in all there feet or not.

I would assume back would maybe smell more as they scrape more after doing their business.

All 4 feet have glands in the pads. Hasn't seemed to make much difference which feet I use front or back seem equally effective.

Do a test with your dogs front foot pads and see what you think for yourself!

That must be why they do a kick back, when signing territory

Bucksnbears makes soup out of coyote feet. He says it makes him feel manly. Maybe he will give you the recipe.
