Apparently there's someone out there who likes the way President Trump is destroying America. Funny I haven't heard much about this on mainstream media..yet I'm sure there is a way to spin this into something bad.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

You want hear much of nothing. The media knows that if the economy keeps clicking and folks have work and money in their pockets, Trump wins in a landslide. So only report the negative.

Just six months ago or so we had the "worst" 3 months in history of the DOW, now we are back at 26,000 . wouldn't we have to have the best 6 months in history?

Anything positive the media stays away if it relates to the red party. The DOW has broken 3 or 4 records since trump has been pres. but ya no matter what the subject very little if anything is said about the good things happening.

The Dow would have to be at or near 50,000 when his presidency is done if he wants it to do as good as under previous president. Look it up if you don't believe.

Hardly a fair comparison, when Obama took over it was at Rock bottom

Digger man that’s not true, it was at 7700 start of his first term, 13,000 start of second and 20,000 when trump took over. But it was so low when he started it pretty much had to go up

You don't know much about the stock market if you believe that. When Obama started his presidency the Dow was around 10-11 thousand, when he left it was around 21000. That means it doubled.

wow Thats liberal math. It's a lot easier to double 10000 then it is to double 20000. Trump has to get it to 30000 (a 10000 increase) to do the same as Obama did. Obama took 8 years to do it. Trump is well over half way there in 2 years.

The Dow was at 18,000 when Trump was elected. It only went to 21,000 because Trump was elected.

Trump had an immediate impact on the DOW, didn't the market go up the day after the election, didn't the DOW drop the day after Obama got elected. Isnt Obama still claiming the economy rise? Also what ever happened to "quantative easening"

I think it's pretty clear that the Fed was and is responsible for creating a beneficial climate fo investing.

It is also pretty clear that due to the Fed's accomodative stance the market went up in spite of Obama's policies rather than due to those policies.

We have had pretty much the same Fed policy during the Trump years...so far. A difference in administrative policy, however, has made people more inclined to invest in the market as well as in plant & equipment.
So the government is not as hostile to business now as it was during the Obama years.

My calculator is set by default to deal in calendar years and it shows the following.

Jan 2009 through Dec. 2016 (Obama) the true compound annual growth rate of the S&P 500 was 14.49%
Jan/2017 through Dec.2017 (no 2018 data in my data base yet), the CAGR was 21.93%

Both are very good and both are mostly due to the Fed. But there is a lot to be said for 'attitude' and perception of how the federal government looks at business.

Is the Fed still buying back notes or what ever? What is the interest rate difference now as apposed to the dark years.

Fed is not currently buying securities. In fact they would like to sell the ones they bought but that seems to put downward pressure on the market. Consequently, they are backing off of winding down their balance sheet.

Yestreday the news said the DOW was down on reports of lower spending, yada, yada, etc. I had to go on line to find out how much. 103 points, less than 1/2 of 1 point. Made it sound like black Monday.

For 8 years of the Oblahblah debacle my pension was in critical status because of the anemic economy & stock market instability. POTUS Trump deserves all the credit on this booming economy & the stock market reaching record highs month after month, only demoncrap/commie/progressives see this as a bad thing. My pension was virtually saved from day 1 of DJT becoming President.
