Apparently there's someone out there who likes the way President Trump is destroying America. Funny I haven't heard much about this on mainstream media..yet I'm sure there is a way to spin this into something bad.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

You want hear much of nothing. The media knows that if the economy keeps clicking and folks have work and money in their pockets, Trump wins in a landslide. So only report the negative.

Anything positive the media stays away if it relates to the red party. The DOW has broken 3 or 4 records since trump has been pres. but ya no matter what the subject very little if anything is said about the good things happening.

Digger man that’s not true, it was at 7700 start of his first term, 13,000 start of second and 20,000 when trump took over. But it was so low when he started it pretty much had to go up

Andrew, Trump has already beaten the Obama 8 years in only 2. You don't know much about the stock market if you believe that. When Obama started his presidency the Dow was around 10-11 thousand, when he left it was around 21000. That means it doubled.

The Dow would have to be at or near 50,000 when his presidency is done if he wants it to do as good as under previous president. Look it up if you don't believe. and that would be a disaster if that happened that fast (DOW 50000).

It only went to 21,000 because Trump was elected.

For 8 years of the Oblahblah debacle my pension was in critical status because of the anemic economy & stock market instability. POTUS Trump deserves all the credit on this booming economy & the stock market reaching record highs month after month, only demoncrap/commie/progressives see this as a bad thing. My pension was virtually saved from day 1 of DJT becoming President.

I made the YUGE mistake of pulling out when it dropped to 12000 as I didn't want to lose it all. Wish now I'd have left it alone. Hindsight is 20/20.

wow Thats liberal math. It's a lot easier to double 10000 then it is to double 20000. Trump has to get it to 30000 (a 10000 increase) to do the same as Obama did. Obama took 8 years to do it. Trump is well over half way there in 2 years. Um.......Wrong. Percentages are what matters not points. White has pretty much nailed it. If anyone really wants to know why the stock market is where it is they will look at policies and actions by central banks across the world. The debate is are the risks they have taken going to be worth it.

When Obama started his presidency the Dow was around 10-11 thousand, when he left it was around 21000. That means it doubled. I didn't start buying stocks on my own through Scottrade until 2009. It has been a great run. I even retired a couple years early because of the cushion it gave me. I don't know if I should thank Bush for putting the market into the tank so that I could get everything so cheap, or Obama for making it climb so fast. I hope trump keeps it going for another year or so.

Fed is not currently buying securities. In fact they would like to sell the ones they bought but that seems to put downward pressure on the market. Consequently, they are backing off of winding down their balance sheet. I didn't know the Fed was mandated to help the stock market?

So what everybody seems to be saying is presidents control the stock market. Kind of like a command economy?

So when a president signs a bill to bail out failed wall street banks, that is just influencing the market? Or when they whine anytime the Fed wants to raise interest rates to anywhere near normal that there is influence? Whining is probably just influence.

With the way the Fed and the federal government has inflated the money supply the last several years, the stock market had no way to go but up.

Keep buying over time. Whether up or down you still own same number of shares and history shows it's a good return over time. Diversify, blend, periodically rebalance, whatever your strategy, but keep buying and building portfolios. Jim
