I've caught Red Fox and Gray Fox in MN, and other states. Reading some of the threads and journals has me really interested in the cross fox, and the silver too. I'm down in Homer. Are there any between here and Seward? Better yet, Cooper Landing area or Kenai/Soldotna?

You might find a cross down there. I'd be astonished at a silver

Kenai bios last year claimed there are very few fox in general on the peninsula. However, there is a long history of fox farms here so you might encounter some interesting genes if you find a population. I very seldom see fox around here.

That is my sentiment. I've researched it. Low population numbers. And, I've never seen a fox in 6 years of traveling the KP. Back home, they are notorious for being along the roadways, and moving into residential areas. No such thing around here - but I guess maybe up north.

So if I want one for my collection, and it's too far to travel to catch one - I might need to buy one from one of y'all.

There are places in AK with quite a few foxes, but for whatever reason (hare cycle, growing coyote pop, combination thereof) there aren’t many here. The Mat-Su valley is supposed to have a good population I think.

I trapped the K penn years ago around Cooper landing and sterling and never saw a fox the time I was there.

I have shot a cross fox in Paxson and on Kodiak. And I shot a silver fox on Kodiak. Not sure about those areas you mentioned though. The ones I trap by Lake Louise are usually just your standard red fox.
