House Introduces ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban, 10-Day Waiting Period, NFA Requirement for Rifles

U.S. House Representatives introduced over the weekend their take on the new-and-improved “assault weapons” ban, and while the text of the legislation has yet to be released, preening gun-ban proponents like Colorado congresswoman Diana DeGette have outlined the new restrictions on their official government websites.

The Assault Weapons Ban of 2019 (H.R.1296) echoes similar legislation introduced by Sen. Dianne Feinstein and others in the Senate, but unlike in the upper chamber, the House bill has a good chance of passing.

With Democrats once again in control of the House, now is the time to enact commonsense gun safety legislation,” DeGette said. “We can’t allow what happened in Aurora, or Columbine, or Parkland, or Newtown, or Las Vegas, to ever happen again. We need to get these assault weapons off of our streets and we need to do it now.”
“I do believe, because in this Congress…there is bipartisan legislation to have common sense background checks to prevent guns going into the wrong hands. It doesn’t cover everything, but it will save many lives,” Pelosi said on CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time.”

Government thinking is ridiculious.

Going after all legal gun owners and taking away their rights cause of a few people that use them for evil is not right.

But if that is the mindset of the government then why is it when a few illegal immigrants do crime we don't ban all of the legal ones as well.

Pick and choose to promote agendas is all it is. They don't care about the victims. They know most gun owners are against their cause and it's their way of controlling us.

It's time we unite and make a stand. We as true Americans and gun owners need to get organized and push back. It's time we put the fear back into government and remind them that this is our country.

I am talking more then just gun control. It's time we get the corrupt from leading our country.

Per the article, a separate bill would categorize rifle caliber pisols (things like AR-15 "pistols") and any semiautomatic rifle with a detachable magazine as NFA items, requiring the long background check and $200 tax stamp. Good luck with that....it's just grandstanding by democrats. It's empty threats/promises so they can go home and tell their constituents that they tried to do something, but those evil republicans wouldn't play along.

Semi-automatic rifles and pistols with a military-style feature that can accept a detachable magazine;

Semi-automatic rifles with a fixed magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds;

Semi-automatic shotguns with a military-style feature;

Any ammunition feeding device that can hold more than 10 rounds.

A revival of the 1994 Clinton “assault weapons” ban has been a holy grail of the gun control lobby since the original ban expired in 2004. Despite the fact that the 1994 ban resulted in no discernable drop in crime or mass murders, proponents believe a more restrictive set of regulations can decrease the frequency of incidents like Parkland and Las Vegas.

So my 10/22 15 round detachable would become illegal, but the 10 round detachable for same gun is legal?
And my SKS with basket clip non-detachable holding 10 or less is fine?

Almost every gun law on the books right now is unconstitutional and should be repealed. Democrats will keep hammering, and Republicans will keep compromising until there is no 2nd amendment left.

Haha every proposed gun bill has “a high chance of passing” according to CNN, then it gets shut down. I wouldn’t get your panties in a bunch just yet. Everyone needs to take a deep breath and not think every proposed bill is going to take our guns away. The good news is it will boost gun sales. Bad news is ammunition will be hard to find because everyone will be stock pilling.

They aren’t going to come take them away haha. They just won’t allow manufactures to make them. Plus their is a big loophole in these bills to ban the sell of AR style rifles. You can buy and 80% lower. It’s just considered a paper weight to the ATF. They even make them out of polymer now. The hard plastic case they come with happen to work great as a jig. Drill a few holes and grind a few things with a dremil and you got a home made lower. Since you made it yourself, ATF doesn’t require a serial number. The lower is the regulated part of the gun. Everything else can be purchased online. Now you got your 100% legal ghost gun. Put and “arm guard” on it with a collapsible buffer tube, and a 5” barrel, and you got your self a pistol that resembles an SBR and fold small enough to fit in an small backpack. If that doesn’t make you feel proud to be an American then nothing will. Plus when you discrbe a military style rifle, that fits in a small backpack (similar to that of a school kids backpack) you trigger a lot of people. Great entertainment.
