Osky, Ok I’ll bite! In a big blizzard we can loose tens of thousands of cattle in a few days. It’s more than a temporary inconvenience for sure. I think the last one was 60k dead in Kansas and 120k in eastern Colorado

Just in for breakfast. We cut the fence and drove the cattle to the creek. Lost a few calves here, counted 5, but the guys up on the flat are in trouble. As soon as I eat a bite, were headed over to the neighbors to start haling bales to his cattle.

Its pretty disappointing so see folk reveling in others misfortune. Then youve got the city retards who are 'glad' its blizzarding..........

Pawnee I’m giving you guys the raspberries for the attitude only. I know full well the ramifications of weather during the calving season on livestock. Many times in the last 40 some years I helped ranchers get cows and sheep up out of cut breaks, draws, gumbos, badlands and general areas where the winds piled them up and the snow drifted them in.

I’m not a hard working livestock hero, just pointing out I certainly sympathize with you folks and that issue from minimal experience.

Wind is a bad thing in winter. We've had record snow and cold here too. Probably global warming.
08, your the only NY guy offering an opinion. While I live in Illinois now, I grew up on the southern edge of the snow belt in NY, just east of Utica. Average winter snow, 120-130". Bad winter about 20-30" more. My old college roommate lives on the ONLY road that borders the Tug Hill Plateau in NY. Average snowfall 300".
Anyone in NY living above interstate 90 up to Watertown to the north knows snow. Not even taking about a noreaster that can dump feet at a time.
Lets all pray for a nice gradual without too much rain. We are at flash flood stage here now.

i can remember huntin snowshoes up around Watertown when the snow along side the road was 2-3 times the height of the truck.like driving in a tunnel.
