Sold my fur this afternoon at the Kentucky Fur Takers Auction in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. I think there were 7-8 buyers and a fair amount of fur. Mostly put up fur, but there were a few lots of green and carcass fur. Well handled fur did well, poor quality fur/handling reflected in the prices, although some lots brought more than I thought they would...

Here is my breakdown...

1 coyote @ $62.50
11 coyotes @ 54.00

3 red fox @ $14.00
1 gray fox @ $12.50

2 cats @75.00
1 cat @ 45.00

2 otters @ 50.00
2 coons @ 10.00

That is all put up fur. Saw some $20 gray fox and $17 reds, thought that was pretty darn good.

Beaver castor was bringing $50-$60 pound

Saw some nice muskrats bring $6.00, most were $4.50 or so
Beavers were tops of about $18.00 or so I think... Top mink was $11 or so....

Those are pretty good prices, in my opinion. Seems a bit higher than the past couple of years. Good Job!!

All Kentucky fur.... Im in Breckinridge County, which is about 70 miles SW of Louisville.

I've never had a coyote average that high, after commission it was $51.42 (5% commission) Ive had higher individual coyotes at NAFA, but the average has NEVER come close to that. I walked out of there very happy, did way better than I thought I would!

That is a very good average on KY coyotes, congrats. Was 12 your whole catch on the year, or did you have others not on the sale?

Just heard about that sale and also TN. looked to have had a pretty good sale to. Also heard of some green cats at 40 each in the MS. sale. I feel a change in the winds.
