Sorry for your loss Charles. But you are still young enough to get another best friend.

Let's go Brandon

Charles,

So sad to hear about Sidney.

I KNOW she was a beloved member of your family.

I count myself as fortunate to have met her a few times...she was a GREAT Companion to you and Susan!

Godspeed, Sidney.

With a heavy heart,

Don

I feel it yet today. We put our 12 year old yellow lab down in April. Tough day. We walked over 11,000 mile together so I get a chance every day to relive some aspects of his being with us.
I am 71 and don't feel at this time I want to start that relationship over again either.
The thing that gets me the most yet is the trust they have in you. You take them to this place where their life will be taken and they trust that they will be safe with you. It may have been the best but it sure hurts to know that there is some form a betrayal involved in that process. Take the time you need but keep your chin up as they would want you to enjoy life as much as they enjoyed being part of yours.

There are no words that can be said to ease the pain. My lab “Luke Dawg” retired from hunting at 11 and lived his last two years in the house living like a King. Your post brought a tear to my eye as I still miss Ole Luke Dawg. So sorry for your loss. It gets somewhat easier over time, but you’ll never forget. Some say you only get one “once in a lifetime Dawg” I belive it. I figured there’s no sense in getting another because what I had could never be replaced. You will be in my thoughts.

At your age you need another one pdq.
It will get you out and about for that daily exercise we all need at our age.

My curs, especially the female, would stay by my side 24/7 if they could. If you have a dog you have a friend. A good one too. I’m sorry for your great loss.
