If you got 15 years out of a pair of Lacrosse boots you are doing really good or not wearing them much. You'll never get that out of a pair of mucks. Lacrosse are still the best in My opinion and I put a lot of miles on them.

Amish up here only use Mucks. That says something. lol

Have had the Arctic Pros for about 8 years now, I wear several different boots throughout the year for different things so I haven't worn them a ton but love them. I'm amazed
at the comments on this boot or that boot doesn't last or only got three years out of them. Its all relative. If your wear a boot for 10 hours a day for 100 days of the year and get three
years out of them you should be doing back flips but yet guys will complain they only got three years out of them? Boots depend on usage. Lacrosse makes a good boot still as well
I bought a cheap pair of Burleys ($8.00 someone posted on hear from Tractor Supply) and love them.

I have the Muck Chore boots and they offer No traction in the mud or snow conditions in my area. I would not recommend them at all.

If I had put a nickel in the swear jar every time I picked myself up out of the mud or snow this past season I could have bought a pair of Kenetrek's.

my experience too with muckboot chore. I have already wore my 2nd pair out. The neopreme gets tears very easy, but I just wipe some silocone over it and it does the job. I have problems with the rubber cracking where the toes bend. Ive tried tire patches and silicone on those with no luck. I am going to try and find a different set of boots

Curious on the Dans Frog legs, do they act as a lightweight wader that somehow tie into your mucks or lacrosse? I had trouble figuring that out from their website.

Wore LaCross for years, after they started making them in China the rubber quality went way down, Went to Muck boots, very comfortable, had the Edgewater, but found them "cold", the foot part finally cracked and started leaking. Recently switched to Kamik, better quality materials, about as comfortable and cheaper, and made in USA.
Friend of mine gets a muck clone from Tractor Supply , much cheaper and he claims last as good as the mucks.

Yeah its a hip boot thats sewn onto your boot. Its more for coon hunters to cross a stream, not so much for a muskrat trapper to wade up a creek all day. Plenty of people use them for that though. Handy to have a pair. You'll use them.

So you send them your boots or do you purchase a new pair that they work from? I'd think these would be perfect for long trecks around a beaver area where I may have to step in the swamp here and there?

This was my mothers exact story, had the same muck boots for 15 years. When those finally wore out she bought a new pair. They lasted one year. In the past 5 years muck boots has gone down the tubes with their cheaply made products for the same price they were selling them for originally.

One of the original owners of muck boots got disgusted and left to make muck boots in the original style and build.

For a knee high insulated arctic pro muck boot it is $130-$150. For a knee high big bobby DRY SHOD it is $70. We now use big bobby and although they are heavier than muck boot it wouldn't surprise me a bit if everyone in our family still has theirs in 20 years. Go DRY SHOD! You won't be sorry.

Dan's does have the Frogger Chest Wader that is a pair of their boots that has the chaps attached and sealed so they are waterproof to the waist. Not cheap at $299 but I hear they hold up very well in eastern NC beaver swamps. And they custom make them to your size, not a one size fits no one well. They are not neoprene so they do not burn you up in warmer weather either.

Same thing happened with me on Rocky Cornstalker boots. Had a pair I wore to death for 8 years. I mean I wore them. The tread finally split in half on the bottom. I still walked through a shallow
creek and they didn't leak. Bought a new pair, didn't wear them nearly as much as they were uncomfortable and got 2 years out of them. They were then made over seas and not in Ohio anymore.

I will agree the lacross boots are not what they once were,i have the muck artic pro and like em good traction. also have the lacross alpa burley pro 18 inch,but if you measure it it is only 17 inchs high,dont like the strap on top of boot. I also have a pair of irish setters 1200 and like them,they failed once (rubber tore) they sent me new pair. I am in wet areas a lot and wear the mucks the most because it has better footing.

I bought a pair of Dry Shod boots this summer and I wear them everyday in the fall and winter. Great boots I'm very satisfied and I love being able to roll the tops down. Worth every penny.

They must be marketing them up in our area. Got ours in a farm store near us. Like you every where else I'm looking is saying $85. Which is still a huge difference between muck!

I have a pair of the Arctic pros and they are nice to slip on and walk out to the barn in and are warm, but I would us my Dry Shods for anything more than just walking plus they are just as warm as muck and slightly heavier. I got both boots at the same time this summer and the neoprene on the Mucks is falling apart. The Dry Shods are still like new other than visible dirt!

I get my muck boots at a dairy supplier, they stopped handling muck's due to the constant failure. The story above is the same one I was told, guy sold out and product went down hill. I purchased the dry shods so time will tell if they are quality or not. Haymaker Hi is the model I got for 98 bucks

Check these out. I wore the Quatro boots for years as an artificial inseminator in dairy barns. The first few pairs I had I did have trouble with them cracking behind the toe where your foot continually bends.
They must've fixed that problem because I have not had that problem for a long time. I have a pair of Quatros in the knee height that is 5 years old as well as the pair with the chaps that are at least 3 seasons onld. I have a friend that had a pari of Quatros that he wore everyday when he worked in the sand mine and he still wears them almost daily 3 years after the mine closed. As stated above with the Frog Legs they are not a wader but i beaver, rat and mink trap in them, you might get a damp spot on your legs but that is it. One nice thing with these is that you don't need to be overly concerned with fences and sharp sticks ripping them.
