I heard and not sure if true but under this ridiculious bill that your child even though is old enough to hunt cannot be in possession of the parents gun.
Is this true? How can you ever prove who owns what firearm? It's a scare tactic. No not a scare tactic it’s a well thought out and deliberate move by them, they know it is unworkable but it is a step and when it proves unworkable the next step is no doubt complete registration with stiff fines for having an unregistered gunalong with full confiscation of any others It is a lot like Obama care they knew it was unworkable but it was a step and their next one is towards single payer health care don’t ever make the assumption that they are just being pie in the sky dreaming, you have to always keep in mind that they are playing a long game much like a game of chess where each move is in support of the end they want which is winning the game and achieving their goals Which I don’t think any of us here on this form are going to like

Ok let say 15 years from now I have a 12 year old grand son that by today's laws he can legally hunt. But I am sure he would not be legal to purchase a firearm. So by him having a gun in his possession there would be know way he could claim the gun is his.
Am I wrong on this scenario?
Not as I see it. "I bought the Gun legally in WI from I don't remember who and I don't remember when" If the law is for firearm purchases in MN whats to stop MN residences from going to WI and buying a gun from private seller? Might work but I think their intent is no one to have possession of any gun without back ground check. I agree it's a well thought out plan they have to keep putting gun laws on the table to finally break through on gaining control. They will keep pushing and in time they will win. I think it's a neccissity for all of us to ban together and get organized now to slow them down. We could all meet and sit down and discuss ideas to counter their agenda. We could recruit and educate the public. Make videos and tell our side. Waiting till new restrictive laws are made is stupid on our part.

I assume that this pertains to private treaty sales as well? It's a good thing your sold all your guns to me for $1 each a few weeks ago.

I think with a little effort the Feds can figure out who bought a certain gun. I am calling Bull. They can find out who the original purchaser was SOMETIMES. That's it. This is a common misconception. Even today if you were to purchase a gun all they ask is if it is a "long gun, handgun or both". No make, model, caliber or serial number. That info remains on file with the FFL holder. It would require EXTENSIVE research to find the original owner because everything is hard copy not electronic. Even if by some miracle the original owners name was located the person may be deceased, give them firearm away to 'someone", sold it private treaty, etc. More than sometimes from what I've seen. In every mass shooting I've watched on tv, the police and media know where the guy bought the gun within hours. I agree with used guns, that's why there's a big push to get them cataloged with new sales.

Yes, in most of the mass shootings it was quickly found out who purchased the gun and where. But the key question you have to answer is what did this prevent? It prevented nothing, it changed nothing, it exposes the stupidity of background checks. Back ground checks are meant to stop people already convicted of felonies from buying a gun. The whole argument about gun control is not about public safety. Its not about preventing Murders. Its about the Gov't controlling you. If you think its about preventing murders answer me one question, if you want to prevent murders why don't we just make murder illegal?

Got a question ,What happens to other peoples guns who live in the same household as this Red Flag person. Lots of people have relatives and inlaws living with them that cant have guns for the same reasons listed here ,seems a lot of people will be affected by the red flag rule
