what ever is free and fits.................furnace blower motors 1/3 or 1/4 hp. pulley/turn ratio important for the drop ratio.

Northof50 is right as you can always gear things up or down based on what motor your using. If you know anyone who does appliance repairs or a heating contractor, you could ask them if they have any used ones.


Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

If I did my math right I have an 1/11 hp motor running a 250 gal drum. It's a bit undersized as I can only tumble four really big coons at a time but the point is motor size will most likely not be a problem for the size of your drum and the size of your coons.
