What tires do you guys run on your trapping/hunting rig? I'm looking for something in between an all terrain tire & a mud terrain . Thanks

I've heard them cussed and discussed, but I bought a set of cooper discoverer at3 4s and I really liked them. We had record snow this season, 56" and they worked really well. Today I drove county roads to take my son to Indoor facility for baseball. Everything thaws out last couple days and it rained 1/2" today. Roads were awful. I left ruts almost a foot deep in stretches trying to get through mud up hills. No problem, I was impressed with them this season for sure. I drove a lot of snow and mud trapping December and January this winter.
So far, I am Sold on them.

I've had 5 sets and I like them. I get the mileage out of them they say.

I put a set of BFG KM3 Mud terrains before this season on my Toyota. They were expensive, but have held up well on gravel. They do well in the Mud and are quite on the Highway for a Mud terrain.
I had Cooper SST Mud terrains before the BFG KM3. The Cooper SST were great tires also, but more road noise. Both tires have been good on my trapping rig.

I just put a set of cooper at3s on mine. I really like them. Previously ive had BFG all terrain and nitto terra grapplers. I like the coopers the best. They were also cheaper than the others. 285/70/17 and i paid 800 for the set mounted. the others were 900-1100 mounted.

I wouldn't put Cooper's on a golf cart.
Had 2 sets on 2 different trucks. They started out good but sucked crap after 1/2 worn.
Tires that state long milage are seldom good off road tires. Just the way it is!

I run the cooper st maxx on my ranch trucks that see nothing but two track dirt roads and off road use. I went to these after not having much luck with the at3. I will say this, I abuse tires like no one else's business. I kept having trouble with the sidewalls on the at3, and the st maxx has the knobs around the sidewall to help deflect depree. I have run 8 or 10 sets of them on 4 or 5 different trucks and have never has a sidewall failure. I have had to fix a few flats, but they were very slow leaks. These trucks are strickly dirt road and off road, and the st maxx is pretty knobby so will hum some if you travel on highways.

Roadain MT tires are what I run have been for years, good lugs and they hold up well they come in 15 and 16 inch that I know of the Toyota gets a set when the factory junk ones wear out! They are coming out with a more aggressive tread the guy at the tire shop was saying the last time I was in there.

BFG Mud terrain or BFG All terrain. So far, no other considerations.

Cooper At3 4s is all I run on both my truck and wife's SUV. A little noisy in the SUV, but with the rain we have had. I will gladly take a little noise versus slip slide and away. Sarge

What size truck you putting them on? What works on the small trucks doesn't always work as well on the big trucks.

I'm hearing good things about the Goodyear Duratracs. Great in snow anyhow. Not sure how that plays over into mud.

I’ve been running duratracs for about 4 years now. I buy the 10 ply. They are great in the mud and snow and wear exceptionally well as long as you rotate each oil change. And I haven’t had a flat since I started using them. I get 80000 km + out of a set on an f150

I friend recommended a tire shop about a hour away, Called them up and got a quote for BFG's ATs payed under 700 for them mounted and balanced, this Fall. Every place by me was close to 900. So what ever you pick shopping around pays off.

I have had wrangler duratracs, bfg ko2 and now falken wildpeak MTs on dedicated trapping trucks in that order. I was skeptical at first but the wildpeak MTs have really impressed me so far, so much that I put the wildpeak ATs on my daily driver. Can’t speak on mileage as I have only put 10k or so on them but both sets have done very well on ice, snow, mud, and highway. Might check the reviews out on them and give them a shot as they are pretty affordable.

I had two sets of those crappy Cooper's, both sets had a tire fail when half wore out so I had to buy all four again, Cooper's are about an inch shorter than a Firestone or Michelin. I figured I lost about one mile per gallon with the short Cooper, same tire number as others, hankook tires are hard riding, hydroplaning junk
I really like the Michelin
