Obviously we've all heard about the story and probably seen the quick selfie video the guy took right after. This was the first time I'd actually seen an interview with him about the event. I think the guy's got a realistic perspective about the whole thing. Worth 17 minutes of your life to watch his commentary.

Dang, I fear I would have faired way worse. Inexperience with grizzlies would have probably done me in. BUT if armed properly I could have had a decent chance to survive.....Pump shot gun with bear loads to me personally would have given me even to better odds of not being hurt. Bear spray ! I am not to sure of it.
But this guy went thru (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) and survived to tell the tale.

Wow, what a story. From reading different threads I was under the impression the guy was half off his nut. After listening to his account, if it happened to him it could happen to anyone. Someone said he had a "Big Set". Boy howdy, like magnum size!

Thanks for posting the link, well worth the 17 minutes.

There was a show on TV called something like, "The Day I Almost Died". Various dire situations where a person almost was killed but survived to tell the tale. One was a girl who fell out of a boat and was dragged under by an alligator, another was a guy who got his arm caught in a grain elevator, several were bear attacks. Two were in AK and one in the lower 48. Three bear attack survivors, but pretty beat up and close to death.
