Didn't get home till one am so in a fog of two days of stress and running. I apologise for sale running over into Sunday. I was consigned 1129 coyotes, 423 rats and 211 cats. We ended up with 1700+ coyotes, 311+ cats and 1200+ rats. At three on Sat when bid sheets were assigned to be turned in rolled around, buyers said the had 50+ lots not graded. I knew it wasn't popular to push out another day but I had to make the call to push it. I wouldn't have been able to sleep if 50 lots got a no bid or a half (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) bid. As always my goal is to get the most money possible for trappers. I'm not bothering my mom to figure out averages for a day but prices were crazy high. Top coyote was 188 bought by Western Montana, my large lot of coyotes (some of them early October) brought $95 average. Some horrible rubbed lots did not do well and eastern coyotes did not do well (not many easterns though) I would say rough sale average mid to.high 80's. Zander Fur, American Hide and Thunder Mountain bought some coyotes but George blew coyotes out the door. Cats were even more impressive. If I had to guess I would say 15 cats went over a grand, a few over 1400 and top cat was $1665 I believe (Rifle Colorado cat of Kevin Herman). Western Montana definitely bought most cats, Rocky Mountain bought a lot as well. American Hide and Fur and Eric from Pappas ( I guess technically Montana Traders) bought some lots as well. I didn't pay attention to grease fur or fox prices much but they were pushed higher than normal by the taxidermy and hat maker buyers that we had at the sale. Strong competition on the rats I noticed. The North Idaho guys drove 9 hours down and helped for three days practically running the sale for me. Bernie, Melissa, Frank, Lee, Delbert, Rob, Justin did all paperwork and computer stuff and took extra days off of work to help out. We couldn't have ran sale without them. Those guys had to leave right after shagging fur so they could drive throughout the night to get to work and that is understandable. What was disappointing was we couldn't get any volunteers to break all the tables down. 50+ trappers just rolled out the door after hearing prices. Four of us (my dad and Tim are 70+ years old) did most of the shagging and all of the table packing and clean up. We can not have the sale in the future without more volunteers. We just can't do it all. Not to be (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) here but just a few extra hands goes such a long ways. I can do all the work leading up to the sale, just need more help during the sale. Overall turnout, great excitement, great buyer turnout and the main point is to raise money for the ITA to protect, promote and enhance trapping in Idaho. I'm beat, ton of stuff still to do and Fish and game commisior meeting in three days. I know I have a ton of voicemails, Facebook message and texts to respond. I'm trying this morning folks, please be patient. Thanks Rusty

Well done Rusty. Hopefully people will begin to understand the issues and step up for you guys in the future. A lot of times us older guys kind of feel like we already put in our time and would appreciate the younger generation(s) stepping up.

Doesn't matter what you are helping with(scouts,4-h, youth sports) it is always the same people. The others always have an excuse but they are no busier than the rest of us. Great job to Rusty and his helpers. I retire in 4 more years and then God willing I will be there.

Great job Rusty and everyone else who stuck it out, you guys busted your butts. Im truly amazed at your dedication and hard work. The second day was a good call, it was definitely an impressive turnout. Nothing to apologize about! Wholeheartedly 2nd this! Going another day was absolutely necessary and understandable. No way there's another pres that works harder than Rusty! Thanks Rusty and everyone else who helped make that sale a great one!

Was a great sale. There was a lot of great effort by the volunteers. And I know that Atleast most of us buyers were glad to see the move to a 2 day sale. It was absolutely necessary. In turn the sellers that had good stuff were rewarded. It appeared that most articles had strong prices for current market conditions
Great job rusty and crew. I wouldn’t want your job
