Not a darn thing. Bikers - August, the forum is silent. Trappers - November, the forum is silent. Bikers - October thru April (depends on where you live) what pipes should I put on my bike? What oil should I use? Will these apes fit? Trappers - March thu October (depends on where you live) should I dip my traps? Should I night latch my traps? Will these oversized pans fit my traps? Just manure starting here.
Not as bad as I could be, not as good as I should be.

Keith C - I know of South Park but I don't watch tv so I'm not familiar with that scenario. Sorry man but it's proven fact that ( sorry for us real bikers ) 2 into 1 pipes that are quieter produce the most power. Fixin to smoke your butt quietly!

Went to Mama Tried Bike show down in Milwaukee last weekend. Its probably the equivalent of a summer rondezvous. Good time, good people, neat ideas. Years past they also would have Dr Pepper racing on Friday and ice racing on Saturday.

Oh man, my dad raced flat track in 50s and 60s. 1/2 mile and mile. He had some odd bikes, too. Czech made "jawa" bikes for a bit then he got a triumph "miler" he called it and talked a lot about that bike. He had so many trophies in his office when I was a kid it was unreal. I remember many were taller than me. Won nationals one year in dodge city. Said when Harley came out with their XR flat trackers they ruled the dirt tracks everywhere. Watched Jay Springsteen a lot when I was younger on his XR take some races on TV. Those bikes could produce a lot of torque to break the back wheels free on the turns to go sideways. Dad really liked the look of the XRs too. Thanks for sharing that pic! Anyway he talked about his ice racer once. Had 1" and 2" spikes on tires. He had some short track bikes too. Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Ive ridden bikes for 50 yrs, still own 2. A friend called me a biker once and i told him i may ride a motorcycle but in no way do I consider myself a biker!! What an insult!!! I know how to shave, bathe, and dont need to talk crap. I also remember when leathers were worn for protection from road rash and not for wearing colors etc,and we didnt need to HANG in large groups.
we use this time to get together, have a cold one, and plan our summer trip. I've got a small group that we do a 4 or 5 day trip each year.
have done the blue ridge parkway, dragon, cherohola, a loop around WV with a dip into OH to run the triple nickel, and looks like this year we are heading up into central PA mountains

if they had good ice they could participate in ice motorcycle racing another winter sport
We used to do that on Kings Creek in Wv when I was a kid. We'd put nails and screws thru the knobby tires and get it! That was a fairly shallow stream at the best of times, in winter there were a bunch of rock sticking up thru the ice. Add a snow cover and youth and we'll you get the picture. At 59 years old I just don't bounce as well.
