Their numbers would work against them and leaving the City would a disaster most would sit around with their hands out waiting for someone else to put food in that hand, they would consume their own first. We are talking zero skills and people that plan on others to protect them they would become sheep and the criminals the wolves. After the ones with resources and influence tie everything up in towns the criminals will form army's to take from the countryside. The countryside would've probably eliminate the meth heads as individuals but won't be prepared for an army of thugs. Also....those in the country would (if they're smart) form small cities to secure their resources. So.....right back to humans urbanizing lol, that army that will become accustomed to the resistance they received from the city folks is going to be as surprised as the '69 Colts when they leave the city. lol

Well.....most of them are already battle hardened and will be even more experienced by the time they make it out of the cities....especially if your on the east coast. "Battle hardened", not quite, they prey on a population where discernment has been washed away under the guise of equality. They won't find equal gullibility among the country bumpkins Hollywood has portrayed.

Do city folks farm at all is the point really? They are not self sufficient in any way they need the rural farms as they produce so little and consume the lions share of whey they need.
Leopold Said
“There are two spiritual dangers in not owning a farm. One is the danger of supposing that breakfast comes from the grocery, and the other that heat comes from the furnace.” ― Aldo Leopold
Well....they buy our resources...... Law Dog- Do you transport criminals to a county seat? The vehicle that you drive, was that made in an urban area? The rural folks need the urban folks and the urban folks need the rural folks. Its been like that since time immemorial. If you do not farm/ forest or mine full time you're the same as an urbanite but trying to prove otherwise. This division that is being promoted by snobbish city slickers and uppity rural folks is just what America's enemies want Honda and Toyota have factories in very rural Ohio. They intentionally built them there because the rural, mostly of German descent population, has a good work ethic. There were issues, back a fair while ago, because the Japanese would not hire minorities to work in their automotive plants, in Ohio. Keith

I'd like to see the 3 week challenge!
Let's blow the bridges and see which side (urban vs rural) can hold out for the full 3 weeks.
Mike If my farm was suddenly walled off, trapping us in, we could live off of what we have until we died of sickness, accident or old age. Not that I want to be trapped here. Unless they can bring stuff in or travel, most city people would die fairly quick. Keith

So some believe the people that only know the city will leave that city for the unknown! LOL People that have taken no responsibility for their own safety will suddenly become an army that would be effective. Too funny really
I have worked with ST. Paul gangbangers that fell apart when a bug landed on them, like I said some just don't get it and the reality that would go with it.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Those in Chicago, Detroit, NYC are familiar enough with bugs and living rough. Heck....aren't you from the southside of Chicago?

We are talking zero skills and people that plan on others to protect them they would become sheep and the criminals the wolves. Also....those in the country would (if they're smart) form small cities to secure their resources. So.....right back to humans urbanizing Pike is correct... a LOT of people will die in the cities from starvation, disease, and murder as resources dwindle. Whatever is left will band together and begin pillaging the countryside. Country folk will have to fort up together to defend themselves. They'll be able to live their lives pretty much as usual. ( but posting lookouts to warn of advancing hordes would be a good idea.) Mike

But is a life without theater and the orchestra worth living? Shadow puppets will get us by for a while. Mike
