A pile of corn works too! You do that here, and that pile of corn is gonna cost you a pile of money if ya get caught. It’s hard to beat the ole yellow yelper though. You can leave your calls at the house.

Patience is key... but getting that bird that comes in HOT, gobbling, responding to you is like the whipped cream, nuts and the cherry on top!
Let's go Brandon!

If a bird is stuck move to him, if he is walking away move to him, only sit tight if he's coming in HOT! I've killed a lot birds that had no intentions of coming to me. Also hunt with a partner and have him 50yrs in front of you. Bird will practically walk over top of him.

Pattern your birds before your hunt.
Lots of times I have gone In on opening morning and been done In 10 min and never even carried a call. It's not as much fun but It gets It done.

Know where your birds go and when they go there. No point hunting where there are no birds. Be patient and do not over call. Very little calling is needed. Scratch the ground some and keep your gun ready. Sometimes they come in hot but most times they want you to come to them. Ignore them and many times they will come looking for you.
Permethrin. Spray the heck out of your hunting clothes with it and let them air dry. It is a magic tick repellent.

This video, IMHO, captures what I try to tell a lot of new turkey hunters. Watch this video 10 times. It really tells a lot in only 8+ minutes. Once you call, that gobbler knows EXACTLY where you are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaX2IX6iXXYPatience kills the animal. Excellent Video!!! Thanks for posting
