You have to push in the "clutch" with the left foot to start the mower, but after it starts and I take my left foot off the lever the engine dies. If I try to engage the blade the engine dies. Any suggestions? A stupid safety switch somewhere, I'm sure. I already bypassed the stupid switch under the seat that kills the engine if you aren't sitting on the seat.

Mine requires the parking brake to be engaged to get off. That's what happens when the Effing Lawyers design equipment.

Just had a look at the diagram and its the white wire that..................... hang on a minute here. If you bridge the white wire from the ignition tp the starter solenoid it cuts out all those safety things like clutch pedal , attachment clutch etc. Now this is for testing purposes only and you should not run it like that yada yada yada. Don't try this at home kids and in the state of Californistan ... please just burn your grass as the paint on your mower can cause birth defects. I think that covers it all.

The safety circuit on the ignition switch has an S on the contact and a white wire sticking out of it

Update......earlier I was trying to to jumpstart the mower in my Dad's shed but since the battery is under the seat, you can't jumpstart it and sit on the seat at the same time, so out of frustration, I cut the 3 wires going to the seat switch and twisted the 3 wires together. The plug-in I cut off is 400 miles away on the floor of the garden shed now. With the 3 wires twisted together the mower will start and run if I keep my foot on the "clutch".....then if I un-twist the 3 wires and leave them all separated, I can take my foot off the clutch, it stays running, blades will engage, and the hydrostat moves the mower! No idea why, but it works! I'll look for that white wire today.

Instead of bridging or cutting wires I just zip tied and taped the switch in the down position on both the seat and mower engage switch haven't had any issues since 4 yts for the seat and 2 yrs for mower dwxk

That's a fact! No patience for that stuff! BTW, how do you "bridge" a wire???? How do you bridge two roads? Instead of bridging or cutting wires I just zip tied and taped the switch in the down position on both the seat and mower engage switch haven't had any issues since 4 yts for the seat and 2 yrs for mower dwxk This ^^^^^

Thanks Mother. I drive with one hand on the wheel and one arm out the window too! I don't fasten the seat belt when I drive my ol' pickup. I don't wipe down the handle of a grocery cart with a sanitary wipe. I fart whenever I want to.
