2 skunk calls this week and just got a yote they are call spooking the heard one calf dead and one injured (trampled) so far, there goes the afternoon for me.

i thought you had made some kind of call to bring skunks in when i read the title.thought what's that Lawdog up to now.

That's what I thought, had a few questions about those skunk calls, Lol.

Did not know skunks even made vocal noises but they do, Abby squeals like a pig when she is mad at the dog! LOL

that was my thought,knowing about Abby and the amount of work you do with skunks,i thought you had somethin figured out.

Went to the yote place the mud was like butter had to take a side by side a truck would just bury in that grease it was just a hay yard not a settable place within a mile trees were drifted in and the closest fence had cattle on the other side and no way to set a foot trap. We talked and told him to see if the State Trapper would come out and set gitters it would be his best bet just needs to watch his dog.

On the way over seen a skunk on a snow bank in the ditch so the race was on the Walther kept jamming with regular loads and I was trying to get a angle where no houses were within a mile. Went on for about 5 minutes until he went down his hole s I know where to set now. LOL

When this slows down you should try to record Abby and try it may not work for skunks but I would think coyotes would come running just from interest.

The vocals are rare it happened more when they first got together and would get worked up after food it was kind of alarming to hear it kind of like stepping on a dogs tail it gets your attention right away.

Well thats good and bad, its good that they get along better, but bad that its rare and you cant record it and try it.

Had 2 skunk calls today 1 double and a single nothing huge but still worth some juice! Stripes were not as good as the pic makes them look they had that yellow stain look from denning.

If you were here I’d say thats a pretty decent size for skunks, it’s always amazed me the size of them up there and the numbers in which you guys catch them.
