I was busting a piece of red oak and found this grub inside it. What will it hatch/turn into?

i would venture a guess is most likely a Red Oak Borer Beetle. But, really could be any of the borer beetles.

It would help if you could tell us what it taste like.

It actually looks quite tasty but I'm afraid I'll have to pass this time. I have seen them before under the bark of dead trees but have no idea what they are. It does seem kinda big to be a borer.

Looks like a quarter to me... American coin. Might turn into a Coke or Orange Crush if you put a couple of them in a vending machine.
