You guys might remember when I shot the ‘new world record’ buck last fall. I finally finished mounting him this evening. I hope I did him justice!

What's that "line" on the neck in the last pix? Just the hide needing to get brushed out a bit or did you have to sew up a cut/wound...?

NonPCfed, I shot him in the neck with a 4 bladed muzzy. The broad head cut him open pretty good there and I struggled to hide it. He still had a short cape since I shot him in September.

I like the pose. That is what they look like when they are right under my stand on the wrong side, crawling through the thickest brush, only to slip away, out of site, without another sound.
I like the battle scar too. I made a nice straight on neck shot on a giant buck. My taxidermist patched it up so that you can't see it. I wanted a 12 gauge hole that I could stick my finger in. I was proud of that shot. Ever try to hold steady standing up trying to shoot a buck of a lifetime right after you peed all over yourself? I guess I need to replicate that puddle on the den floor below the mount.

I think it came out very well. Nice job.
