I’m trying to offer advice to some old Hawaii friends who are snaring pigs. Some factors to consider.
Pigs aren’t any bigger than 160 lbs Preferred DOA Snares will be in a wet/humid/potentially salt spray environment until they catch something. Rust/corrosion is a concern.
I’m thinking they can get away with 3/32 1x19 stainless cable, a midline swivel, and whatever lock out there that’s stainless. I think Newt has a stainless one. Thoughts? Should they use copper ferrules or can they get away with aluminum?
Pat, as usual, you are right....

I use the Ram Power Snares Wolf Master. It's quick and effective. I hook them to an 8' 1/8" choker. I've whacked quite a few. I like to bait them up with sour mash or hog wild using a game cam. When they get on it and no non targets in go the snares. Have taken as many as 6 with 10 snares in a night at one location. I think Meat Trapper uses one from Southern Snares com. I'm pretty sure they could make it for dispatch.

Thanks Newt! Do you have your SS slim lock in 3/32?
