Anyone have any advise or contacts for a black bear hunt in the U.S?Preferably eastern part. Looking for decent sized bears an good population. Thanks

Maine has some decent bear hunting. My first bow kill. The bear on the skidder was my last, momma said enough. I help friends connect nowadays.

PA has some of the largest black bears in the country, but it can be tough hunting (no bait, no dogs).

OMM Outfitters, Eagle Lake Maine. You can trap and hunt bears there.

I think that I saw Dan was booking a a few November North Carolina hunts. I was going to book one of them, but just have too many irons in the fire.

Dan Wagner of Maine Trophy Outfitters delivered for myself and a buddy in 2015. Hunts over bait or with hounds. Don't know if he is still in the business.

We have tons of bears here in east Tenn and western NC mountains, I would be more than happy to help you get on one and it wouldn't cost you a dime. Still hunting is tougher but can be done, but have several friends that run them with hounds that are always looking for someone to shoot. We only get one tag so these guys don't ever want to kill someone they can hunt the entire season. My buddy got a 608# so we have some big ones too
