I was told that it was due to already having a really long season and by increasing the length of season, the success rate will climb and it will take even longer to get a permit. IMO, we should shorten it even more but take some time off the front end.
Not sure what our attendence was.... Maybe 60 in Winnebago. I know we had some folks just come to get the code so they could vote online but be counted in the county total. I need to go vote online now! Along with the coon & K9. Nov.1-Jan.31

Not a big fan of shortening coon or coyote.... Frankly, if we are looking at it from a biological sense, we should get rid of the season altogether before we should shorten them on those two species.

I'm ashamed that there were only 30-35 in attendance at the Brown county meeting, considering there are 300,000 people that live within a 20-minute drive of the meeting location. I can't say how many people showed up to get their number for online voting and left, but it seems like there were twice as many people at last year's meeting.
Next year I vow to make more of an effort to get more of our kind in attendance at our meeting. I spoke up about the trapping issues as well as some others that I am familiar with, but like someone else said, it barely felt worth it to speak up to such a small group. By the time we got to the last 38 questions, the group had shrunk to less than 20.

For not being a very populated area we had a pretty good turnout. Not as many as last Year but I would say there was still close to 75 people. Mostly whiney liberals that were Agaisnt A mine that is going in the up next to the Menominee River

so what was the WTA call about earlier last week ...not supporting the fisher season extension? I was curious too. The call left no detail as to why WTA opposed the extension. I've never understood why fisher season ends so early. Some are still bowhunting until then. January should be prime fur, too. I looked online yesterday to see if WTA board minutes were on the website, but they weren't.

The muskrat zone question failed to mention what the dates would be. That left some at the meeting puzzled.

With the online vote, I'm not surprised. Attendance will continue to dwindle, making it harder to find people to fill the congress's committees.

The hickory question was interesting Bryce. I don't see hickory around here, but if deer truly like them, I might plant some.
Maybe Beav will start getting his deer tested if there's a chance for cashing in on a CWD contaminated deer.

Well I'm not sure If my fliers an our Emails made a difference. But we out voted the anti crowd when voting In our 2 delegates. I'm not sure about the attendance numbers but It was a packed house and It was I our favor. but of coarse the antis stayed home to vote on line. I saw trappers there that I never have seen before. Randolph backed off on trying to ban hunting and trapping on public land. This mine thing Is a very serious problem for the environment. It should not be taken lightly. You have to be In attendance to vote on the delegates and the resolutions.

Great work Gary! Amazing what a little work and awareness can accomplish. Hopefully your goal is to build on it, but it will be tougher next year.

About 45 at Solon Springs in Douglas County. The trapping questions that had the most negative comments were the fisher season extension and allowing fencing on colony traps. I am afraid that the fencing question might have added opposition to the culvert question.
