Where are they thinking of moving to?

Marshfield is a central location and the Fairgrounds seems to work well.

Back to Neilsville?

Now those were the days. Ziggy and the boys buying up anything at the auction that would burn then throwing that on the bonfire out in the waybacks. Sporadic gunfire 'til 4 in the morning.

Where next Lee?

Is Marshfield not big enough?

I know when Nationals were held there it was a bit crowded. LOL

This event is worth clearing your schedule for EVERY year. Other than opening day of gun deer season, it's 1 of the few events I ensure I attend every year.

I think it's stuff that went on behind the scenes. The fairgound group apparently did some things that were not necessarily favorable for WTA. I hope things can be worked out as it's a great, centrally located facility.

You'd probably want to talk to a WTA board member about the specifics.

I believe the problem is the costs of using the grounds. When I was on the board, they were threatening to raise the rates. We were exploring our options then. And that was a few years ago. So I would assume the rate hike has/is happening.

You guys don't have a clue.
We are under contract through 2020 so we have 2 more years at Marshfield. The rates have gone up a bit but not enough to be concerned.

Back to Neilsville? Not going to happen.
I have access to the facts. LOl

I went to my first WTA Convention while in high school back in 1972, Wood County Park, and I thought it the best event I had ever been to in my life. I bought 3 B&L 44 from Woody Roberts, a buck each, and still have the DBL Long Spring, trapped my first beaver with it. If this thread goes for a bit I will find some pics and post them. Looking forward to the conventions now that it has been brought up.

Finding suitable, good location sites at prices the WTA can work with is not an easy task, but exploring options and opportunities is important for long term planning and success.

I am finding out just how few times that many of these large fair ground sites are utilized per season or year and I was amazed to find that out. I can see why many are funded by local government and business partnerships. The fees needed to let out the grounds I am sure are a real draw back to most smaller groups.

Yes he was. I still have some of the #2 vics I bought from him. All pans were cut way down.
But the man was totally against trappers ed and selling beer at the conventions.
