J. Some of the best "seafood" my wife & I have had - canned/put up "redhoose" suckers as they say in the deep South. A few bones but, delicious.

unsure about the roe .

I take the truck down an pick him up when he fishes till after dark and load his bike in the back of the truck.

but i haven't purchased my license yet this year so I haven't touched a fish or a pole that wasn't already to be taken back to the truck.

we have a new warden and he lives in town so I have seen him more times in the last year than I saw the previous one in 14 years .

do you just wire the chunk at the back of the cage , or do grind and make bait that way?

I like using the whole steaks as the mice can't carry it away easily, the steaks work in cages and buckets. I add fresh every other check or after a catch by the end of the season the buckets/cages have plenty of a fishy smell to them. Some summers I will fill a large and a smaller chest freezer with carp. I like filling up bread bags with the pieces as that's a nice amount of fish most of the time, if you need less split a bag if you need more take out 2-3 for a 5 gallon pail amount. I just toss the steaks to the back of the bucket or cage.

We boiled them and took skeleton out and made fish cakes. Grandma always called them poor man's salmon patty

They fight like a large vibrating marital device set on high (or "Oh my!" on some models).

We have a spring spawning run of redhorse suckers out of Lake Superior. They are good smoked.

Yes, smoked is how I prepare them, and then if you have plenty, canned with just a little vinegar to dissolve the bones.

Scaled scored and fried was good when I was young, or if there were enough they were pressure canned and became "salmon pattys".
Suckers are American and Carp are German invasives, why do people think they are the same thing? It's like calling a red fox a skunk.

Awesome. Someone took the bait.
The wife of a good friend of mine use to sell said devices at parties, similar to the old Tuperware parties.
One day I happened to pop in on them at home when she was preparing to head out to one of her parties. My buddy was shamefully sitting in a corner, adding batteries in the devices to make sure that they worked and loaded them into two large carrying bags.
Once he was finished, his wife asked me if I would be a peach and carry the bags to the car for her. I picked up the two bags and exclaimed the following,
"Never thought I'd ever tote two satchels so full of ****** that it was uncomfortable to carry."
I doubt if that sentence has ever been said before or since.

Sucker!!!
