I’m suppose to be leaving Thursday for Hayes center Nebraska to turkey hunt, see his big storm coming and flooding a month ago, any info on the weather or how it effected wildlife in that part of the state? Landowner (outfitter) says all is fine but I know some of you guys gotta have first hand knowledge thanks

May 1 a couple of years ago in Northeastern NE. 8" of heavy wet snow. Turkeys were being turkeys and a couple of them did not make it through the day.

I have also seen 100 degrees in early May in KS. The weather out there can vary a lot this time of year.

You never know what Nebraska is going to throw at you this time of the year. Probably be a mix of tornadoes and snow. I don't think turkeys should be an issue and I always wonder how a guy charges for people to come hunt them I assume that's what you mean when you say outfitter. Longest I've spent killing a turkey was 15 minutes. I get bored easily. If you ever want to smack as many as your heart (licenses) desire for free let a guy know. They're pretty much everywhere here.

Have not checked yet this year but IIRC, it was $111 per for up to 3 toms plus a habitat fee last year.

8 to 24 inches of snow, and 60mph winds.

Probably won't be going anywhere if you can make it to NE

Hey QuietButDeadly, the hotel you were staying at in the pic is less than a half a block from where I used to live. I can't remember, are you the fella I hooked up with to hunt my cousin's ground?

By the time you get there, it should be pretty well clear for you, but it will be sloppy. The most difficult part will be the trip out there. Blizzard warnings between you and there through Friday. But, you might be able to stay south of that crap.

10-4....that was me! Made a lot of good memories around your old stomping grounds. Planning to head that way again in a couple of weeks.
